You’ll find us tearing up the Texas Hill Country roads on the motorcycles, and exploring Kerrville, Luckenbach (where “Everybody's Somebody” according to the self-proclaimed mayor), Stonehenge II / Easter Island Heads, Lyndon B. Johnson - both the state park and & the national historic park, along with miles and miles of riding. You’ll find plenty of inspiration for your next riding / traveling adventure here.

Richard now that you have your BMW for a while give us your thoughts and what you like better over the Harley. Over 44 years of riding many different bikes I've never road a BMW. Keep up the great work. I have a saying that I repeat to my self when I'm riding in the twisties ( I can go around a corner a little to slow many times but I can only go around a corner a little to fast once).

Agree, would love to know how the GSA is performing. Likes and Dislikes. On safety. 100% agree. Foe me, Wisdom is born from experience(s). Safety is always paramount. To ride and to be able to again. That’s my goal. Ride safe and ride often.

How hard you ride is a personal choice for the individual rider. I have owned 6 BMWs and currently have a 17 GSA. I like the brakes compared to a lot of the other bikes I owned. To turn off the abs is a little bit of a pain when your doing off-road. I love the large gas tank so I don’t have to carry extra fuel like I have to with my Wr250r. I think Rich and Chris are more about visiting places than they are about pushing the performance levels of the bikes or their abilities. Scooter Tramp Scotty says it best when he says anything you ride everyday will eventually break. Unfortunately, all of the manufacturers of motorcycles make it more expensive every year with regard to parts. 40 times around (Tim) has a BMW he has rode quite a while. Take a look at his channel. Best wishes on all your travels Glenn.

Yeah. A comparison would be interesting yet subjective. It depends on how one rides and why one rides. There are no safer bikes, only safer riders. Safer doesn’t mean slower per se. I have a GS a Ducati and a Harley Road King. I love them all, obviously for different purposes. My wife has never laid her butt on the Ducati. I have transported chairs on the GS. We made a 5000 miles loop on the Harley in US. We live in Europe. Peace for all

Funny fact when i served in the British Army (9 Years) i used to drive past the real Stonehenge every weekend on the way home to my parents place. Then I married a Canadian girl in 1995 and she's like oh my goodness it's stonehenge stop stop the car.... I'm like it just a bunch of rocks 🙂 When you see them all the time it just becomes normal i guess. Now i live in Western Canada and find myself saying the same thing about the Rockies !!!! Thanks for the wonderful ride this Sunday evening !!!!!

Now you can add another US Stonehenge by visiting the one at Maryhill, WA. Then there's "Cadillac Stonehenge" outside Amarillo, TX. You could be the first to log a "Stonehenge Trifecta", all before crossing the Atlantic!

There is also a Stonehenge Replica in Odessa Texas. Did the three brothers last year and I agree I was a fun ride, but most of the roads in the Hill Country are great! Don't miss the 11th street bar while y'all are in Bandera and the museum is worth checking out.

A Texan and a history buff so I enjoyed this. Yep with 254 counties, I like finding the courthouses, and no I ain't done yet. Nice plane. My CAF Squadron has the smallest aircraft that would use that designation. It was used by "IKE" to go to his ranch.

I’ve non intentionally ridden those roads after dark, and it was crazy how many different wildlife were on or near the roads. I had an aoudad sheep, a bobcat, and two deer run out in front of me all within one mile. I have also had several axis run out in front of me in that area.

That happened to me too when I was coming south from Rocksprings. I was going 35-40mph. I don't even take my other vehicles out very far at night. However, deer can and have jump right out in broad day light. One ran into a friend and t boned his side. ...on 55 head back from Uvalde. RIP Cruz. I didn't intend for my comment to go that way. Slow and Steady...

Love watching you guys through the Midwest. We took a trip into Colorado for a week and ran into a place called Bishops Castle. My wife and I are on the older side but still get out on old Twofer (09 Road glide). We learned a few years ago that it's better to haul your bike where you want to ride. We really love to use the older motels in the towns we visit. Love you guys keep it up.

I was just looking at riding the Texas Hill County yesterday. Its one of my trips that I would like to do this year from Florida. We will see. One thing I have noticed with you two is since you got the truck and the base camp, you two are more happy, joyful, energetic. No more riding between places in the rain, or setting up a camper or added room in the dark. Cooking with hardly any space, etc. Good on you!!!!

One of my favorite parts of the country. The wife and I vacationed in the Hill Country for 7 years in a row. I hope you had a Lone Star beer while in the store at Luckenbach. Then, there's the statue of Hondo Crouch out front. He used to have an annual deer hunt near Luckenback every year for a group of his friends. One bit of information that you gave about Stonehenge II that caught my attention is that it was built by Doug Hill. The reason this caught my attention is that the Stonehenge replica in Washington state was commissioned by Samuel Hill. I wonder if they were related. The Washington replica was built as a memorial to those that died in "The World War." At the time no one expected a second world war. It seems that each of these replies could claim to be more authentic for different reasons. It appears that the Texas replica is made of cut stone. The Washington state replica is made of concrete. The Washington state replica has adjustments in it dimensions like the Texas replica. But the reason for Washington State replica adjustments was due to the replica being at a different Latitude. The intent of the adjustments was to keep the alignment with celestial bodies the same as the original. The original Stonehenge was a kind of celestial observatory. So it seems appropriate that the Washington state Stonehenge replica is near the Goldendale Observatory State Park in town of Goldendale Washington. They claim to be the only observatory in the world that was built strictly for the use by the public. It is worth a visit if your are in that area. It is best to visit just before sunset. Plan to stay until a couple hours after sunset. To motorcyclist and car enthusiasts the name Samuel Hill should trigger two other thoughts, Maryhill Loops Road and the Historic Columbia River Highway. Both of these roads are often featured in motorcycle and car advertisements. Maryhill Loops Road is in the within a mile of the Stonehenge replica. But is only available to ride by reservation. Parts of the Historic Columbia River Highway are within an hour's ride and definitely worth the ride. The Maryhill Museum is also in the area. Maryhill state park is a good base for exploring this area. I hope that I have tempted you into exploring this area. Thank you for another great video.

What you may or may not want to do while in the Hill Country is highlight some the hundreds of Texas Historical Markers on the roadside. Like when you brought up Charles Lindbergh. Y'all hit some pretty cool places. The Lady Bird Johnson wildflower farm is beautiful when everything is in bloom. Stonehenge II and the Easter Island heads are super cool, they used to be in the middle of a field on private property but moved to the park later after the owner dies as you said in the video. Did you ever tour the Lone Star Motorcycle museum? I think the oldest building in Texas is the Old Stone Fort in Nacogdoches, Texas.

I don't know why they call that one Stonehenge II when it should be Stonehenge III or later. Have you seen the Stonehenge in Washington just across the bridge from Oregon. I believe it's Biggs Jct on the Oregon side. That was the second one... You can see it on the hill above the Columbia River. Also... when you went through that acute condensation that basically blinded you and the temp you rode into was significantly warmer was you passing through a weather front... When I was flying in the military, we had to be aware of weather changes we'd be going through... we were supposed to go slower when penetrating a weather front like that. I remember one time flying from white sands and going south westward and we flew through a weather front like that too. We were supposed to slow to 80 knots, (Penetration speed in a Huey.) Later, after landing in Los Cruces, in our post flight inspection, we could see we put some wrinkles in our tailboom skin. That could have been a real bad day for us if it had done much more damage. I was the one on the controls at the time, actually flying the aircraft. I believe, somewhere in my thousands of photos, I have a pic of the wrinkles on the tailboom.

Just watched your latest tour video and loved it. I'm waiting for a little warmer weather to do Fredericksburg and the Hill Country and everyplace around there so my wife will ride with me. We'll be coming from Katy TX which is just west of Houston taking back country roads staying off I-10 . I've downloaded the Hearhere app which is called Travel Stories but what I would really like to know is what travel map app do you use to plot your travels? I'm looking for one that allows you to change the route to the way you want to go. TIA
@TwoWheelsBigLife

@@TwoWheelsBigLife Thanks that's exactly what I want to do. These map apps will show you how to get there but it's their way not necessarily the way you want to go. Hey I just bought a Garmin zumo 396 gps and have just learned how to turn it on, will I be able to plot my own routes with it?
