Really appreciated Adrienne's vulnerability here. Everyone else was pretending to be above insecurities, especially Jeannie trying to play therapist and I wish they had related and shared a bit more.

Damn, Adrienne got real af. I use to feel the same way because my school and neighborhood only had black and hispanic kids. I can't imagine how it feels for kids who were one of the few minorities at their school.

It is possible to overcome them, you need to first acknowledge them, own and accept them. We evolve and insecurities changes over time, for example especially in grade school I was so insecure about how dark my skin was because it wasn't seen as beautiful. Now, it's one of my best features. I love and appreciate my complexion.

Love what Adrienne was trying to say. My girl tried to take this back to the days when our ladies used to put their feelings out there, get deep, and relatable to their audience. Jeannie seems to be in a different headspace now so she's just happy happy, lol but she could have mentioned just a few months back that she felt insecure about her body weight due to DWTS and then getting sick.

I definitely felt that awareness and insecurity due white people's presence . Even though I'm college educated, there's definitely been times where I felt I had to tone down my emotions, language, and behavior because I didn't want to be looked at as ghetto. But no longer. But that never really stopped me from having white friends though, but they were also my "equals"

I luv how honest Adrienne and loni was I’m 34 and went through a divorce which has brought out some insecurities that I may have had before and some I didn’t have till now so I am a work in progress and learning each day !!!!

Omg Adrienne just kept things a whole stack! I love how vulnerable she is, esspecially at her class of fame...just because it helps me to see that my thought and insecurities are not mine alone and are not because I'm not at a certain Financial class. I totally get everything thing she said. May soind weird but... I purposely sought ojt friends of different races just because I saw this flaw in myself ans no matter how much I knew it wasn't right I couldn't shake it. I learned that we are all very different but from a human level very much the same. I also learned that there are definitely white ppl who seek out black friends just to rid themselves of their generational superiority mentality and I do not fault them one bit. Its funny to see but I respect it!

I think sometimes I know this sounds cliche... but sometimes what we see as flaws , or insecurities... i would say it’s good for them to stay with us... it’s the perspective that needs to change... I notice that a lot of times we become insecure based on what society tells us is not considered “ beautiful “ so when you don’t have that slender nose... or that perfect six pack or that curly hair or those big lips you feel the need to conform and make others comfortable when you should truly appreciate what makes you happy and everything about you should be secure and confident... even little quirks that one has... it adds to what makes you YOU ! ♥️🙏🏾

I want to applaud Loni for saying that the project don't defined her, that she defines the projects by coming out of that and being who she is today . I think too many people allow their past to define who they are today rather than letting themselves now define who they are today.

That was really brave of Adrienne to admit. A lot of people could take that the wrong way, but it’s a legitimate insecurity as a minority person in this Eurocentric world.

Now that I am officially "old" I can honstly say, life is too short to live in the past. It's a nice place to visit once in awhile within your mind, but don't live your life off of what was. I have very few insecurities left at my age because I recognize life is short. Do I want to spend it worrying or do I want to focus on life? For the most part, i was never insecure about class, education, finances, looks. Becuse we are all simply humans. No better or less than our fellow human beings. I used to be insecure about my chubby cheeks and flabby arms, but now I love my looks.😘

No Jeannie, a lot of people well above 40 have insecurities. I share Adrienne's insecurity as well as many others. Whether it's our body, our background, our education, our finances, etc.. We may become more comfortable with who we are or in our skin, yes, but we still have insecurities over 40 Jeannie. Adrienne always keeping it 100!

Adrienne!! SO. FREAKING. TRUE!! That is a huge insecurity 👏👏👏 Even with my White friends, I feel this insecurity. I feel slighted or less than. Maybe by conversations or by this history between Whites and Blacks. That was deep Ade, and I wish this point of yours would have been discussed a lot further

Dang! Adrienne be hitting deep! I too share her insecurities. I think its more common than she thinks. You can tell the rest of the girls probably shared a similar experience with white people. When you're a minority, its not always a comfortable feeling. The college thing is also a huge insecurity of mine too 😞

I totally relate to Adrienne. I myself don’t really have white friends for the same reason. It’s part of growing and believing that not all non people of color have white savor complex or want to be our friend to check the ethnicity box!

Listening to Adrienne speak about her experience with white people, I'm curious to what she would categorize her relationship with Rob Kardashian as, since he is white. Maybe she's just not thinking about him when she says that since it was a romantic relationship, but I'm curious to know if she felt the same way around him and his family. Or if perhaps she looked at them as not white since they are Armenian and many people try to claim they are not white?

Jeannie lowkey gives me narcissistic vibes , I don’t believe one bit that she doesn’t have any insecurities . Every single human has insecurities. She was annoying in this segment. Tamar was lowkey right about her , she doesn’t let people see her true self

I do think it's possible to overcome insecurities but I do also believe that insecurity and confidence is a facet of personality and so, there are some people who are literally born more confident and some people who are born more insecure. You can always improve these things based on environment and effort but there will be some people who have to work harder at overcoming their insecurities than others will.

i agree with Jeannie ...at a certain point you just stop caring. Especially when you know Who created you and your purpose in life eventually you wont care for the insecurities , they may pop up and discourage you from time to time but gotta remind yourself “i am loved i am beautiful i am handsome” and keep it moving

Sometimes insecurities are purely caused by other people. Kids in middle school made me insecure about my skin tone and having parents from Africa, but I am proud of both these things today.

I totally agree with the ladies ❤️. No matter why your mental, physical, emotional, financial, social, internal, or external circumstances look like ... you can always find room to nitpick and something to be longing for. It is 100% realistic to overcome your insecurities an live a life where you are truly growing, living, experiencing ... not living in lack, fear, comparison, hatred, or resentment. Once we learn how to appreciate others beauty and success, without undermining our own ... and practicing unconditional love and radical acceptance for ourselves and our lives, that's when we truly become free. As you get older you tend to live for yourself and not the opinion of others.

Because alot of latinas hispanics look white to me, I did not know they felt a difference between them and white people. Or that they care. Interesting to know. As a black woman I don't even think about that, I just think they don't like my race because we look different and because of history..but never been insecure with them...The subject was quite interesting today

I am so sad hearing about Adriennes insecurity. I am white but born in the Balkans (Southeast Europe) where people are in general more chill and also have endured alot in the past. We are also louder when we speak our languages, love drum music and spice our meals as much as possible lol! Our history has made us more resilient but also more emotional (Albanian people lol :D). Therefore, I feel most comfortable with modest/ non stuck up white people and with most people from all over the world. So to Adrienne: If some people make you feel insecure, maybe it is just your body telling you that they do not have the right vibe for you. And there are white people out there who love Hip Hop, are chill and love to learn about other cultures. I hope you ll make friends with those kinds of people so that that particular insecurity will ultimately fade away :D Greets from Germany :*

I have the exact same issues as Aderienne. White girls have always been weird and awkward with me. I don't know what it is, I have dark hair and eyebrows and a tan colour skin but I honestly could not point it out. Middle to high school I couldn't befriend them then college I had so many classes randomly with the same white girls over and over but could not even work in a group without the awkwardness. Then in my night school when I thought I had one white friend, she turned out to be greek LOL. Then in University when at this point I really know who I was and was sure it is not me that's the problem (which the naiive and younger me would think it is), turns out this girl in my group just decided not to like me from day one and was super rude to me. I remember my first covo with her was that she just went to florida and I said same I just returned a week ago, and throught we were going somewhere with the convo, turns out she just ignored me and continued the rest of the term with her snarky comments and ignoring. Oh well. It is what it is.

I would like to say I turned 30 in October of 2020 and have been married this year in March for 8 years to my beloved husband we have a 30 year age difference and it took me up until the past 2 years for the calmness in my marriage of being complacent in a good way kicked in however I have aways been family oriented. I just have to say tho since I have turned 30 it was something different and I am now I can confidently say agreeing with how Jeannie feels at 40's butt with that being said I wasn't partying or doing any of that sort before.I have been a homebody my whole marriage but if you all would like my husband and I to come on the show we would love to he is 61 getting ready to turn 62 on April 26th of this year and I am 30. We have been thru the ups and downs but love each other to the fullest and are currently trying for a baby! Thank you real fam for keeping it real! It's definitely possible to overcome your insecurities. The word says we are overcomers we can go to God for EVERYTHING. I say this because some people don't just come from a toxic environment they are literally still in a toxic environment so it has to BECOME mind over matter.

Adrienne, I totally have the same deep insecurity. My life experience has been different from yours, in the sense that I’ve had a bunch of white friends & I even now date a white man; but in public-I ALWAYS feel judged & either looked down upon by white people or sexualized around specifically white men. All that to say, I hate both feelings of inferiority. It effects where I choose to hang out, the town I live in, so much. Anyway girl, you’re not alone! We are all HUMAN & that’s what I remind myself in those insecure moments
