@18:03 is such a important point. There's still a really widespread belief that people who "choose" to work in the black market do so because it's lucrative or "easy money"

Correct. The vast majority of those people who end up as GSWs in hospitals or other means of experiencing violent trauma are caught up in the drug game. Mix in those folks who are locked out of the job market due to having previously being lock up in a country that's not serious about second chances and you have a powder keg on your hands. Easy fix would be in invest more in educations, housing, and jobs - but the the federal government divested from Black communities - so it's up to us.

Data is very important and from what I see redlining is by design and still going on in many ways and on different levels. It’s funny how people still act like they don’t know who caused this or what put this in motion. Bottom line it’s all by design to redline to keep the ADOS down.

@@milesarcher8502 I think they might be referring to the fact that street thugs get rich selling illegal drugs. Once drugs are no longer illegal, the demand will drop and so will the price. Legalizing drugs can help lift people out of poverty. The war on drugs is what is keeping the demand so high, though. Portugal legalized all drugs and their crime rate dropped by more than half within a few years.
