Thank you for your reaction to the shamanic goddess otherwise known as Diana! I love the way you react to her and I have subscribed as a result! Diana has a way of touching our souls with her singing, and clearly your soul responds to that, as does mine. I don't know if you know her story, but she was abused by her birth mother and ended up in an orphanage at three years old. She was so traumatized she would - or could - not speak, but she was adopted by a lady called Irina Polik who saw how she would sing along to TV theme tunes. So they sent her for singing lessons thinking it would help heal her emotional scars. I think that Diana has found a way of channelling her pain into her singing, but somehow manages to convey a message of hope and this emotional quality in her voice is what so many people respond to at an unconscious level.

It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
