Great video! Thank you!! I've been looking for something like this - it's helpful to know what to look for in "fake" sites and which ones are good ones. Question for you - do you have to pay extra fees (i.e., import taxes or duties) for items purchased from Japan?

Ive only had to pay a customs fee 1 time, and that was for a 1 piece rod shipped via UPS. Never had to pay customs on anything shipped EMS or FEdEx

I did buy a Shimano Scorpion DC from Japan Lure Shop a couple of months ago. Received reel in less than a week. Very good price.

Weird, I found some really good prices on pretty expensive reels. Like a Shimano grappler bb 200 which I believe is $235 reel that I got for $120 on EBay.

Asian portal fishing vs other Japanese stores. Ordered a 2020 Alphas air last Tuesday received it this past Monday. Here’s the kicker, the new 2020 alphas air was bought for 270 unlike other Japanese store who sold theirs for 350-360. Also it’s free shipping too!

i have bought multiple shimano stella reels. don't think they get much pricier than that. tip is to make them separate purchases, don't make 1 big order or you will trigger the federal sales tax.

God Shimano Aldebaran BFS is so cheap on DIGITAKA. I feel like there’s a new model due in the next year or so though.

Great Video Man; I order from Japan Tackle and one EBay seller exclusively and have never had any bad experiences. Crazy, the shipping from Japan took a whopping three days from time of purchase to arrival to my home in Texas thru DHL. I did preorder the new SLX BFS, before, the announcement of the Curado BFS; I can cancel the pre-order and get my $100 back and apply it to the Curado, but I think I may just stick it out with that SLX... Thoughts?

As far as I see, the only difference between the Curado BFS vs the SLX Bfs is color and handle. Spools should weigh the same but we wont know until they both come out

Asian fishing portal usually murder everyone in pricing, my daiwa BBB was about half price from them and it turned up in 3 days to Australia mid 2020 during the covid peak.
