This video Briefs shell and tube type heat exchanger introduction, construction, workflow, etc. It explains shell side and tube side of heat exchanger. It also explains how to apply thermal loading on shell side and tube side, how to consider perfectly insulated condition, how to applied air convection for outer saddle bodies in ansys workbench. It shows how to achieve thermal gradient and match with the applied loading conditions.

The direction of KZfaq I am aiming to pass on to my juniors at this point in my career to work on the thermal design of the heat exchanger that I have been working for a lifetime. Sir, at 22.20 you changed the temperature manually but im not able to change it manually in my analysis. Do i have to use any other key to change the value. Thankyou

You need to right click on legend and input the values you want to input in the legend.

Sir, temperature is same throughout in this analysis. As you mentioned in other comment that transient analysis will give temperature distribution. But how can I perform transient analysis? Is that same as steady state analysis?

For transient analysis, you have loads varrying with respect to time. While in steady state loads are constantly appiled in load steps.

There is no need to know the fluid flowing through HE. We are applying the thermal loads such temperature and convection, which are calculated from fluid.

@grasp Engineering Sir, i have a query to simulate a cylinder with 3 orifice at different height and area and there is a free falling mass impact the piston and flow start from orifice and fluid is viscous. I tried to solve analytical using Naiver-stokes equation but stuck in finding the relation between flow rate with height. so i was thinking of computational FM but confused in which coupled analysis to follow.

You need to do CFD for that scenario.

As I am doing video in noisy environment, hence background music is needed to ignore the unwanted noise.

Poor training video....the temperature varies within the HEX which is not considered here!

It is steady state simulation not transient. Also you need to considered worst condition for FEA.
