Ok so which oil filter and adapter plug combination did you go with. I currently have “hp-1008” filter and the greddy plate. I have the adapters from the gplus but the greddy quality more but it doesn’t match up with the threads of my filter.

Weird, in the link description it says it comes with the M20x1.5 as well, if all you have are the ones from the G-plus use it, I never had issues with them and I ran that adapter for a long time before I switched over to the Greedy stuff

I’m gonna wait for that cause I saw corrosion on the inside of the gpus plug and wait stainless steel. I got the mishimoto lines as recommended also , piecing it all together

I think you're confused to what a thermostatic sandwich plate does vs a non..it is not designed to keep your oil temp stay at 180 degree..that the oil cooler job..the job of the thermostatic one is to block oil from going through the oil cooler until temperature hit 180 degree..this help the engine warm up much sooner and once oil temp hit 180 degree it will open just like any thermostat...

***UPDATE: nextlevelperf.com/product/greddy-oil-cooler-kit-nissan-370z-infiniti-g37/ So I found this oil cooler kit on the net, looks like it utilizes the sandwich plate in this video and something interesting I found in the description: "Internal Thermostat opens between 167-180 degrees fahrenheit" So it seems this thermostatic sandwich plate is actually rated between 167°F-180°F which I can confirm at highway/freeway speeds in hot or cold weather dips down to 167°F. So something to think about before buying this sandwich plate.

@@StreetHeem The G-plus oil cooler and the Greddy thermostatic sandwich plate is a great combo for daily driving and track. Temps out here in AZ have reached the triple digits and my oil temps sit around 190°ish all day long with the A/C running, without the A/C running it bumps up to about 198°.

Do you think you actually primed the system with the thermostat in? The thermostat isnt going to open until 180F so turning the engine over doesnt do anything. When your oil hits 180F it will open and the lines/radiator didn't have any oil in them.
@MemosGarageAZ
@MemosGarageAZ 8 ай бұрын
Actually to my understanding some oil still passes though even when the thermostat isn't open at 180°F, but even if it didn't this is why it's important to fill the oil cooler with oil so that when it does open it'll take less time for oil to completely get to all of the line. Plus getting oil to the engine parts is what I was trying to accomplish since the car had been sitting for a while, so when I turned it over parts wouldn't be completely dry.

Hello, because when the AC is on the fans are on constantly, which means they're pulling the heat from the radiator, AC condenser and of course the oil cooler as well.

Great video - Thanks! Any leaking issues with the G-Plus cooler or hose fittings? I've read they can be problematic. Do the additional GReddy ports accommodate oil pressure and oil temp sensors as is or do I need to buy screw in adapters? What oil filter are you running btw? CZP says yo use a Z32 filter since the plate adapter thread pitch is different from a VQ35DE which I have in my 2006 G35.
@MemosGarageAZ
@MemosGarageAZ 7 ай бұрын
Hello there, no issues of leaking on any of g-plus cooler or hose fittings, they work great with either the G-plus or Greedy sandwich plates. The Greddy sandwich plate would need adapters for running oil pressure and oil temp sensor on it, but I've done some reading online about this and the consensus is that for more accurate readings it is best to run off the block, check out this forum thread about accomplishing this: www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-warranty-scheduled-maintenance-servicing-repairs/104343-oil-pressure-sensor-threads-size.html This is an example of the adapter needed to do this: www.maperformance.com/products/squirrelly-oil-pressure-sending-unit-adapter?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIw-PfvpbdgwMV3iKtBh1STQkcEAQYDiABEgKnS_D_BwE I'm still doing more research on which one or which brand works best for our applications, I would advise you do the same and do some research as well before buying any. I run the following oil filters on my G and Z: K&N oil filter: HP-1008 (Preferred) Mobile 1 oil filter: M1-108A (secondary choice) Hope that helps and good luck.

Mine leak all out looks like from sandwich plate i have o rings in and tighten down yet it leak all over when i turn the car on any suggestions
@MemosGarageAZ
@MemosGarageAZ Жыл бұрын
You just have to make sure the o-ring is seated correctly on the plate, also add clean oil on the o-ring before you seat it on the oil filter adapter. Tighten down enough so that it's a bit hard to move it with your hand, if you over tighten it it'll squish out from where it's supposed to sit at and it will leak. Hope that helps, good luck.

Hello there, yes the Greddy thermostatic sandwich plate is rated at 180°F, but if you live in constant cold weather I would suggest you either 1. Buy a more high quality one like a Mishimoto one or 2. Do what commenter Navid said about covering half the oil cooler front surface.

How are you liking your sandwich plate? I've had the same greddy one for a few months now and its been pretty good. Only thing that worries me is that when I'm at highway speeds when its cold outside like 45f, my oil temp would just sit at a steady 165f. Tried downsizing my cooler but its still got similar behavior. Not sure if I got an unlucky thermostat or something. U have anything similar when its really cold outside?
@MemosGarageAZ
@MemosGarageAZ Жыл бұрын
Hello there, yeah I've noticed similar to what you've described. In the streets I can keep the temps above 180° even in cold weather (about 58° F outside temps), but once I get in the freeway and cruise for a bit it drops to about low 170's. I've also talked to someone else who has the Greddy sandwich plate and he's experiencing about the same. This sandwich plate always allows a bit of oil to pass through even when it's under 180°, but I think most thermostatic sandwich plates are designed that way. So at some point I may have to upgrade to something more expen$ive like Mishimoto thermostatic sandwich plate and see if theirs is better, but for now I can live with this one for $100 😁.

@@MemosGarageAZ good to know I'm not alone and I agree, it works fine for $100. Definitely better than having no thermostat at all. Also If you have any problems with temps on a cold road trip, I've actually been blocking part of my cooler with some aluminum tape over the cold side. Works great
