The first time I watched Samurai I remember thinking to myself "Wow, this guy is cocky." The problem with this thought is the awesome work he does in almost every video. Thanks! keep it up.

damn, this is sick. Perfect compliment to the work bench. What's crazy is that when I'm watching these videos I'm not really seeing it as you're making it. I'm imagining it in 100 years, full of scars, but still rock solid. Who will be sitting on it and what they may be creating themselves. What's beautiful about it is knowing that in 100 years they can go back and watch this video. Witnessing it's birth and it's maker, long gone, creating it. What a f-ing time we live in. As always, I look forward to seeing more.

Never seen people place wedges in the tenon, only seen it in older work. I do like. Its good to see

Gotta say, I don’t normally like this sort of un-narrated video; however, this is very well done. Love the music. My only regret is I would like to have seen a slower version of the carving of the seat.

Yeh, my boss had that attitude till he lost top part of his thumb. and he had 35+ years of exp with machines. it wont ever happen till it does. better safe than sorry bud

+tyvek05 well, as a musician and hack carpenter, ha ha, I would be really bummed out to loose any portion of a fraction of a digit. there's plenty good storys, like the time I DIDN'T cut my fingers off.

I would have turned the seat 90 degrees, but other that that: I hope your children will appreciate all the Heirloom-quality things that you leave them with! I hope you brand your creations, they will be collector items in the future.

You could do it with a drill and chisel, it just takes longer.

That is a mad crazy stool. I built one last year for my workshop out of square stock and it still had 4 wobbly legs and a loose seat lol

Looks like most of his cuts are slow, controlled, precise. You really have to go slow and be patient but I guess there is always a SawStop, what I'm looking at right now.

No, it is designed specifically to match my workbench. I used the same types of would in the same configuration and also incorperated similar joinery and design details so they fit well together.

Been watching your videos for a while now. Been off work for a year recouperating from my forth spinal fusion and all I do is watch videos. I love your watching you build projects you are awesome!! From Nova Scotia! I can’t wait to get in my shop again! I have not done dovetail or worked much with hand?tools always used power tools well watching videos like yours has inspired me to try thank you!!

Beautiful stool. You have a real gift for design. On the other hand, some of those tenon cuts on your table saw without a sled or tenoning jig gave me the willies!

Now here’s an interesting strategy I hadn’t thought of. As friend I chatted with recommended I google Hyezmar’s book. I did and found many plans, but none like this, thanks!

The "hold fast" devices do a great job. Years ago we used them (larger scale of course) in a metal-working shipfitter shop, and they were referred to as "dogs", as in "dogging-down" the work.

There were quite a few comments about table saw safety.....The #1 of all time has got to be Saw Stop. I've seen it demonstrated and though I do not want a table saw in my shop, that would be the only sort I would consider. A table saw has plenty of hazards even with the 'cutting off your fingers' eliminated. Like handguns, I know how to use both...don't want either in my life. -Veteran '66-68
