You hit on two key periods of Gfriend's musical evolution in this video. "Glass Bead", as Gfriend's debut song, kicked off their famous "Powerful Innocence" era in which you see them often shown consistently in the aura of fun, friendship and bubbling energy. As their career continued its development, "Time for the Moon Night" started their second era known as "Passionate Melancholy." During this period (including Sunrise and Crossroads, their music remained faithfully to their original orchestra pop sound but the ambience of their MV, as well as the subject of the song, turned somber and often portrayed themes of a darker nature. And I think you are right about Gfriend's choreo. I don't see other groups do what they do. Everyone is aware of their synchronization. Gfriend's choreo is noted for their large movement, quick footwork, and constant formation changes throughout their song. When they dance their choreo, you get the distinct feeling that the members worked as a single organism telling a story through their choreography. Their moves are fluid, lyrical and already carry an air of grace and logic. I think this is why their choreography brings out so much impact, far beyond the technical precision, however amazing they are.

Okay im telling u, their mv’s has story and its continuing, the story can be going back and forth, so basicly about a glass bead and a blue butterfly, as i know their start the story from rough mv, but the real story is in Love Whisper, telling about six girls who has power per each, they got their power from the pond their dancing, but there’s jeaolusy, the main character is eunha and sinb. You can see them fighting in Fingertip mv, there’s so many version of story, someone says eunha died in Time For the Moon Night, the branches u see when yuju is there is from burning tree from Apple mv, someone says eunha is trying to save their friend using blue butterflies, but the more she use the butterflies, the more bad things happen as u can see in Crossroads mv, ah and eunha is a time traveler using the butterflies, and in the end bcs she use all the butterfly in apple, they become a witch at the ending of apple, and MAGO is the last story, they all become a witch together, partying in Walpurgis Night (album name), and they said “No More Fairytale” in the lyrics, so the story ends in MAGO, Dang u should give me credits for this haha😭🤣🤣

idk what it's actually called but I call the sound the gfriend synth. I get mixing up some of the mvs esp the school trilogy since they all have that dreamy kinda filter and they were also kinda broke so the mvs are pretty simple. Also the music videos aren't in order when it comes to the storyline anyways so you're good lmao. I think crossroads explains the story the most clearly but the others kinda show more of the important details that make it all make sense. They also released "A Tale of the Glass Bead : Previous Story" before Crossroads and "A Tale of the Glass Bead : Butterfly Effect" before Apple and these mini mini stories that came with the last 3 albums that also explain the lore.

Song of the sirens album and japanese album so masterpiece

You mentioned wanting to get into GFRIEND’s storyline/lore, and I had a bit of trouble starting out at first too. I officially got into them around Crossroads era, and didn’t know where to start, so here are some of my recommendations! - The very first set of things I would check out are GFRIEND’s marchen(s), which are mini story books that were released in their Labyrinth, Song of the Sirens, and Walpurgis Night albums respectively. It sets a decent foundation for their universe, and the illustrations are adorable! They can be found online, as people have scanned and translated them. - Their official story is called Tale of a Glass Bead, with which they’ve also released videos. I would watch Previous Story first, and Butterfly Effect second. - The channel Bookish Theories has several GFRIEND videos, and I find all of them to be great! In general, this channel does a lovely job at analyzing and breaking down theories, music videos, and storylines! So I would definitely recommend their channel overall, and not just for GFRIEND. - The channel Laina Sunflower has also dedicated several videos to GFRIEND’s storyline, and how it could be connected to other HYBE universes/storylines. Their videos are also great, as they get into the nitty gritty of several universes, and how HYBE is able to entangle them together. 가장 아쉬운 그룹 중의 하나이다. 이런 그룹들이 굉장히 많다. 해외에서 많은 관심을 가지기 전에 그룹이 해체되어서 더 이상 널리 알려지지 않은 팀들... 너무나 훌륭한 좋은 팀들이 많았다. 특히, 이 팀은 한국에서 정말 많은 사랑을 받았었다. 처음에는 너무 작은 엔터사에서 나왔기 때문에 많은 홍보를 하지 못했지만, 점점 사람들 사이에서 입소문이 나서 탑티어 까지 올라간 몇 안되는 팀이다. 노래를 들어보면 알겠지만, 굉장히 서정적이고 감정을 고조시키는 좋은 곡들이 너무나 많다.

Actually when it comes to gfriend, u can just randomly pick anything from their dance practices and you will still get the best experience :D all their dance practice videos are so satisfying to watch. But for b-side, these are my top suggs: - White (dance practice) - Gone with the wind (Showchampion ep.194) - Labyrinth (1thek special clip performance), and - Rainbow (lyrics video). The reason why i recommend the lyrics video for this one is because the song is really good and i want you to listen to the studio version of the song with a proper audio quality and not a fancam quality.

The dance practice video for Fingertip is pretty legendary if you ask me. That choreography is soooooo goood

buddy since debut here! first of all, i've been watching your gfriend videos for the past two days and thank you for checking them up! first, recommendation if you want to see their dance skill would be: labyrinth perfomance video (group) and sinb's sweet but psycho and tap in dance cover! second of all, gfriend songs have always had a deep lyrics, both their title tracks and bsides. for example, glassbead talks about how being a soft person doesn't make someone a weak person. their lyrics are always empowering! their lyrics is also known to have written so well too that navillera's lyrics even become one of a text example in school books. and then, for the storyline, this for as far as i know; the 6 of them are bestfriends (school trilogy mvs) and then, during a vacation they stumble into a magical lake in a forest (love whisper mv) and that lake gave them their super powers but because of their newfound powers, they end up growing jealous and greedy of one another's power (fingertip mv) and then they just grow apart slowly as friends. they feel lonely and start to miss one another (time for the moon night, sunrise mvs). and then they tried to turn back the time and stopped one another from coming into that magical lake so that they never gained any superpowers (crossroad mv) but they kind of failed and finally accepted their powers and stop trying to turn back the time (apple mv) and then they finally become friends again (mago mv). oh, if you want to check their bsides songs, i'd totally recommend room of mirrors! also their ballad bsides are so good too: falling asleep again, bye, you are not alone (i am not sure if this one is counted as ballad or not but its good nonetheless)

Love more gfriend! Can always count on them for having great vocal songs, especially in the outros.

That was exactly what I thought when I first saw Gfriend in Me Gustastu MV. Their choreography was different, they liked to bounce but somehow it was really satisfying to see

Thanks for giving Buddies these great reactions and letting us relive happy memories of when they were together. I recommend you watch a dance practice for Love Whisper, as they say that it was the hardest choreography they have ever done probably because it was taught and created by the usual BTS choreographer who wasn’t used to teaching girls. It has amazing footwork. You can enjoy the song and the amazing choreography with a dance practice. Crazily, they were asked to perform it in a lake of real water on a music show to emulate their music video for that song. You may have to watch that in your own time as music show reactions often get blocked. The lake in the music video is where the girls got their magic powers but that proved to be a curse in the end, as they became jealous of the other’s powers and began to fight and kill each other as you see in Fingertip. Only Eunha is left alive by the time that Time for the Moon Night comes around. The blue butterflies 🦋 allow Eunha to time travel to try and fix history to stop the bad endings but it never goes as she wants and Crossroads shows the world crumbling around her as she goes back in time. By the way, they are real props crashing around her not CG generated.

gfriend had a bit of a trend of switching back and forth between trying a new sound to going back to their classic gfriend sound (e.g. navillera -> fingertip -> love whisper or tftmn -> sunny summer -> sunrise or sunrise -> fever -> crossroads). the title tracks that aren't part of gfriend's signature sound tend not to be favourites among buddies so they don't get recommended first, but imo they're still really good (i'm a sunny summer defender in particular). on that note i'd recommend checking out fingertip, sunny summer, flower, fever, and labyrinth

Gfriend's crossroad is still holding best instrumental & the song's itself is still top tier kpop song for me, but music wise gfriend's fingertip still hold the best music counterparts composition (for my taste)
