My question is as you do the Royal Mint tour so often, how come the tinny 2019 50p coins are still a mystery - were you not able to ask about them on the tour, or does the Royal Mint not even know what the reason for them is?

Union Jack on the Sea, Union Flag on Land, so generally, the correct term is Union Flag. It's a bit like people calling the Elizabeth Clock Tower - Big Ben! Big Ben is actually the main bell that strikes the Hour, inside the Tower!! So - you can't see Big Ben.
