I’ve found that implementing change and taking steps toward a better life comes down to three main things that work together in a formula to make changes easier. They are:
Purpose - You need to understand why you want something, what’s the purpose of it, and what it really means to you to achieve that thing. Having that purpose is what will allow you to really pursue those goals rather than relying on just willpower. Because willpower is fleeting.
Commitment - This commitment is found by creating to-do lists and schedules that allow you to start making steps toward the goal that you want to achieve. I generally use calendars, reminders, and check boxes so I can stay on track with the things I want to achieve.
Patience - Sometimes our goals take a little longer than we’d like. So many people are looking for overnight changes and success and when they don’t achieve it straight away they give up. But embracing the journey and continuing to work on those goals whether you have setbacks or not, is where the real magic is. Patience is such an important quality to have. And it’s so rare these days that people have patience. Some people give up on things way too soon when they could have reached that success.
So those three things are really the key to reaching any goals, or at least they have been for me.
