To eliminate all the steps to open the glovebox just talk to your car. Push button on steering wheel and say open glovebox.

Front camera should detect when you put your hand on the frunk and unlock the frunk. Light strip is going to be used in robotaxi as a subtle reminder you're close to the destination. Could also indicate locking and unlocking doors. Put on blinkers on roundabouts when you have nagivation route on.

The front camera cannot see the front hood.

@@icy1007 Isn't probably needed, with neural nets you can infer from the position of the person, his arm and hand movement towards the hood. Just as a human would infer the hand going to the hood even the hand would disappear from view when touching the hood.

I don’t care too much about customizing the light bars. I prefer less lighting. It thrilled about light flashing etc either. I hate too many beeps and flashes and stuff over a few basics. If they add anything, I just want to be able to turn it off if I don’t want…then would be fine. Like the idea of phone screen mirroring! I am a huge fan for voice command and always use voice for “open glovebox”

Built in iMessages and a Waze overlay onto the map. Then that would eliminate the need for CarPlay altogether for me.

1000%. Coming to the Model 3 Highland from the ID4, the lighting is the ONLY thing that is better about the ID4. They need to take a note from VW and utilize it more effectively.

ID4 has the standard Turn Signal Stalk, that 99 percent of drivers prefer. So there's that.

@@prettyhatemachine101 But how long will the flat cheap membrane turn signal button last? Over the course of 10 years, you might press that flat cheap button maybe 70 thousand times.

These are some great ideas. I'm pretty sure Tesla has plans to use the light strip for more useful features in future SW updates as there's so much better use than just mood lighting. For example, I would like it to indicate to me when FSD is active as knowing who is currently driving isn't something you want any confusion about. I'm guessing they are just waiting for the LED strip to be more widely adopted in more cars before they make the changes.

7:40 - how does that save you multiple clicks? The glovebox is accessible from one click already. You tap the car at the bottom left and then tap the glovebox. It would save you at most 1 click/tap.

The German cars have all those features, Waze in CarPlay is great for Police Reports, road hazards, taking Text messages from your phone etc.

No, but it can tell you there is an update over LTE. Doesn't require Premium Connectivity. I think it is the same everywhere.
