Here is a new twist to puff pastry cheese straws. These are great as an appetizer or just an every day snack.

INGREDIENTS
4 cold sheets of puff pastry
2 large eggs
1 1/2 Dijon mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 Tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
8 oz cheddar cheese (shredded)
this recipe makes 35 to 40 straws
bake at 400°F for 15 to 20 minutes

In Britain we actually say ‘Wooster’ sauce - the town of Worcester would also be Wooster… seems to be a British habit over the centuries, to shorten words. The village of Appletreewick, is ‘Aptrick’, for eg. Those cheese straws look delicious. I’ll make them. Thanks.

I made these on Christmas Day. I thought the recipe was a little odd, but I trusted the process! I loved them and everyone else loved them. Mine worked better using about one inch strips. You rock girl!

Hello there, I am new here and love your channel. I seen this recipe for cheese twist and loved it. Your such a joy to watch cook. I am 73yrs and once in awhile I like a good snack and not the potatoes chip thing. Never cooked with Puff Pastry.. Always heard of such horror stories of baking with it. Have to do this or that with it or it dries out so fzst. 😉. So I am going to try this receipe. 👍🙂. I am also following you on your new FB page. So bad that so many people are stealing FB pages and I do say MANY. SAD they need to get a life and not one stea!inh. FB does nothing a out it I hear either. These are delicious I add bacon crumbles and sometimes minced jalapeño. You can add do much to change them. Depending the season or your mood and taste buds. Have a great Thanksgiving to you and your family.❤

What a fabulous idea, i have never thought to try placing a sheet of puff oastry on top of another loaded sheet, i dont know why i havent thought of this in my 55 years of making these .I feel a little daft for not ever trying this but tou can be sure i will now. By the way I live in Worcestershire uk and you pronounced it beautifully its sounds like woostersher

I think it is, I have not seen a cheese straw recipe that called for it. Then again, the internet is a vast place. I like the egg wash /Dijon mustard combo as opposed to a garlic butter. Puff pastry is so buttery already. The brown sugar mix pairs well with a sharp cheese. 😊

I would make these anytime for myself. I would have them in the freezer for just when I wanted a snack. I think they should have some kind of protein with the cheese and the egg wash
