2024 has been a bit of a slow start due to weather. Mark talked me into going out this day and I glad he did! We returned to the site we filmed in episode #454 and #455. So this was our third trip to this location. It's a very early farm. A revolutionary war solider lived and died here. His gave is still at the property. Last time we were here I dug 3 shallow OLD copper coins in the yard right at dusk. This day we started in the yard then worked our way into the Hay Field. It was a nasty cold, wind filled rainy day. That didn't stop us from finding some very nice coins and awesome relics!

I just love watching ya’ll! I share these with my Hubby. After some health scares, we have been trying to find something to do, a new hobby, to get us outdoors more. He should do it! It's a great time, pretty easy on the body if your knees and arm/shoulder areas are in ok shape. I've got back issues and still manage to get out for 8 hour stretches at times.

Hey Curt. The item in the top left corner of your board at 17:37 in the video looks to be a piece of a broken sideplate from a Kentucky style long rifle. Just has the longer portion with the other screw hole broke off. Would have been on the stock for support on the opposite side from the lock and hammer assembly! Nice finds!

I have been watching you for a long time and love going back and watching your old videos from 2014 and on. I have to imagine your collection is worth over 100k but know you would never sell any of them. I have been swinging for 10 years and my white whale is a liberty cap large cent. I am sure being around your area helps alot in finding some of your best finds. Maybe someday I will find that illusive coin

That's called a shield buckle, and are early. Not sure if they're military related or not. I only ever found them at early sites.

I also was thinking the shield buckles are military. My only reference is old western movies. Unfortunately that is a wishy washy standard for accuracy.

The coin weight is a 5 penny weight piece (the number of annulets on its face). Once clean check for a royal cypher or markings identifying where it was made (likely Georgian or Victorian).

Foo is just water- it's an old inside joke. Muck doesn't want to be on camera, never explained from what I recall. They dig it all because "all holes matter" lol! Signed- a long time fan.
