That guy sounds ridiculously Australian. It's very weird how similar Australian and Boston accents are. There's a couple of rappers from Boston that I heard and genuinely thought they were fellow-Aussies until I looked them up. 😅😅

As someone from bahston sownds about right my family likes going to kugars in Haverhill ahlso know as the shoe town becahse it was orginahly made shoes until Americah made deals with Itahly and Indiah and chinah so they stahpped Makin shoes But seriously I'm from boston and kugars in Haverhill is really good I'd recommend the clamb chowder.

I know a dude who goes to my AA meeting, first I thought he wasn't even American. He has "the accent". For one year I thought he was an Irish dude living in America (English is not my first language). I got obssesed with the Boston accent. Amazes me!

I'm Australian and some of those words are exactly how we pronounce things. The guy in the jersey that said "eat a clam chowder" in particular.... sounds seriously Aussie.

@@chalada4787I'm in CT too, grew up on the border of Mass but now I live just south of Hartford. While CT seems to have the mildest of accents in the area (compared to NY, MA, or RI), it is interesting to see the different ways of speaking even in CT depending where people grew up - on the border of one state or the other. I might have picked up more of an accent from Mass, I'm not sure (CT just seems like a slight mix but very mild), and a friend/co-worker of mine grew up on the border of Rhode Island, and she definitely has an accent. My boyfriend is from the Bronx, and he has a clearly distinct accent and thinks I say some things weird or we have a few different words for the same thing, which I think is funny. Crazy how we are within just a couple hours of Boston or NYC or Providence, and there's so much variation.

Americans being surprised at Boston or New York accents weirded me out, because I learned English from a bunch of British and Australian teachers, some of them Irish, and Boston just sounds pretty normal to me. Sure, they don't pronounce the r's, but that's actually pretty common when compared to Britain or Australia.
