That reminds me of a woman on the show Botched who wanted to look cartoon character-like, had a few of her bottom ribs removed to have a more defined hourglass shape, and had a plastic surgeon give her permanent lash extensions made from her pubic hair. 😂🤢🤮

Exactly! It’s like “it was bad camera quality”, it’s called a bloody reshoot, you nimrods, it just proves they’re bad liars, IMO, cause like, you’re just saying that you don’t know how to retake a photo.

Also just to put it out there, that Rodan + Fields lash boost serum has actually had a lawsuit against it for causing a number of women to get red, swollen and sore eyes. Just wanted to say that, since even if the girl’s lashes are real, the product itself has had disastrous enough side effects to result in a lawsuit.

Ophthalmic tech here - those lashes are NOT from that “serum.” There are other things that can grow them but they are prescription only and really used for glaucoma, but the side effect is lash growth. So either they were fake, or artificially grown (MAYBE) with NOT that serum

R&F has been busted for selling bimatoprost and related compounds in their serums before (undeclared, of course), so it wouldn’t surprise me if they found a new active they’re trying to slip by the FDA. 🙄

I actually use this product, I never noticed anything with my lashes but at the time I had no eyebrows. Within a month of applying it I gained full eyebrows, It's been a few years and at this point if I stop using it my eyebrows start to fade. No hate, just curious if there's an explanation so my eyebrows no longer have to rely on a $130 product😭

I'd be extremely annoyed if I bought some Dior eyeshadow and it came with a sponge applicator! I'd be ecstatic if it included a flat shader brush and a blending brush. But a sponge applicator feels like buying Wet and Wild eyeshadow 20+ years ago.

I've said this before on previous videos but as someone who came into makeup late in life, videos on insta and tiktok wrecked me. The false advertising that I didn't realise was garbage made me feel so bad about myself and I spent SO much money trying to achieve looks that I now know don't exist. Thank god for vids like the Welsh Twins for educating us late joiners about the tricks brands use.

Manda Lynn I struggle with this! I went to my loca Sephora, and they had fake swatches for metallic liquid lipsticks and I wanted to test one so I put some on and it made my skin look soo bad because of the yellow undertone I have!

hi i actually made the photoshopped swatches. we did real swatch photoshoots for every single product, so the swatches are true to its arms. the product (colorfix) is super pigmented and opaque, the swatches were more for seeing how the colors complimented different skin colors

Thanks Robert for keeping it real once again! Far too many people pander to the these big companies, and it means the information just isn't there for consumers. I remember I was at Pica Pica( inside flea market) I was walking around and this lady came out of her shop to show me this acne product she has and explaining how it works. Then she had her assistant apply it on my arm so I can see how it feels. This assistant had the worst acne I have ever seen on a person.

Friends who ask influencers: "What can I buy that makes my skin look like this?" and the truth is: Photoshop. You can buy photoshop and then you will look like this in pictures.

Yup, and good lighting. What a difference a wee bit of light can make in photos/video, even a cheap ring light one can buy on Amazon for $10. One angle facing away from the light towards shadows, I can look haggard and rough, but facing towards the light my fine lines magically disappear and my skin looks like it has a “natural” glow. Slap a filter and do some editing and one can easily trick others into thinking this is how they look 24/7. Since we all can’t pack around a light that shines down on our faces at all times or have filters applied in real life, we need to get back to loving what we’re given and making the best of it …. starting with companies and calling them out on this crap by heavily promoting a false image for profit.

Yeeeep, and facetune, good lighting setups, filters etc. Not to mention that bigger influencers have the money to be finding the best skincare/makeup products for THEIR skintype too so it may not even work for someone for that reason too

I showed my husband the lashes of the girl from Rodan & Fields and his response was "Don't tell me that's some new style" 😂🤣 . Horrible advertising - I would not want my lashes to look like that. Thanks for this video, it is 'eye-opening' 🤪

I'm atopic and dry as hell and have been that way, i mean literally struggled from that since i was a baby - yet in my 30'ties i still don't have any visible pores (but they most definitely still do exist lmao!). And i assure you; it's NOT EASY living when having this type of skin, not to even mention tryna do make up on it🫣 No matter how much u put your money, time&effort to take care of it and trying your best to prep ur skin for putting on any covering face product like foundation: it immidiately dries out and looks super duper patchy, flaking, wrinkly, textured clowny clay-like mess. A hundred thousand times worse than anybody with pores, even bigger ones, which are normal&essential to all of us (but soo demonized in public...) And then also like ten times worse than anybody a bit oilier who's put tons of make up on, baked, caked, creased 'n' cracked. Luckily i have better days when i'm not havin' exema in my face due to sensitiviness or not flaking all over from dryness and be able to do something, not very much tbh tho. Also dryer people can have bigger pores too, and the fact that the dryness of one's skin doesn't even have to be that extreme...it's still no joke and fr harder to handle than oilier skintypes (even Robert agrees). I could go on and on w/this, in fact i did but it was just too exhausting to read so i'll just rest my case here😅 Ppl plz try your best to appreciate ur pores, everybody has them and for a good reason!❤

All hair on your body has a maximum length they can grow to so if eyelashes were supposed to grow this long, they would do so regardless of the serum or not.

I think those lashes were made that way with an actual brush on Photoshop, you can purchase amazing brushes and pens for Photoshop that really look like hair/grass/whiskers etc, and I'm pretty sure thats how they made their lashes look so ridiculous. slap a filter over your edit, mess with the quality, boom, pube lashes.

I mean, I’m trained in eyelashes and if I did a treatment that turned out like that girls I’d be mortified. They are so tangled and wonky so I half hope she’s telling the truth because whoever did those lashes need to go back to college. At the same time, I seriously doubt any eyelash treatment can make eyelashes like that. Looks like you need a hair brush for them!!

Most mascara ads use fake lashes. If you look closely at the bottom of the screen on mascara commercials, you can see the disclaimer that "models used lash inserts"

I love this! Your thoughts and comments are spot on with make up brands endorsing false claims about their products, which get people to buy their product. Like you've said before, this is people's hard earned and sometimes saved money since make up can be so expensive now! I love your honesty and not holding back on these brands or overall marketing schemes that we are seeing.

I 100% agree with everything you said in this video... Anytime I post a pic with new makeup products, I list the brand and products with a no filter, picture. I have heavy dark circles... I don't want false advertising when I'm looking for a killer concealer to cover these monsters under my eyes! Don't deceive me, cosmetic companies! 🤣🤣

I agree with you, but editorial/runway looks are not necessarily meant to be wearable in real life, they are more artistic. I do think though that if you're gonna make a product for everyday use, don't post an editorial look with it because it defeats the purpose

You can find this on KZfaq - Makeup.Just.For.Fun - just search on KZfaq and don't click on the link, it will not open. She does many Colourpop palettes but other brands also. She explains exactly what she does when doing swatches with primer/no primer, Concealer or not, which brush is used and you can see the difference between the finger swatches and brush. When she does a look it is wearable and easy to follow. Go check her out.

I used to watch someone who would do both, and when reviewing things like foundation & concealer she should do half with a blender and half with a brush to compare; it was very useful.

when you mentioned the beauty filters i agreed 100%, growing up i always struggled with people seeing my textured skin or even a pimple here and there. I always wanted influencers to show their real skin, not filtered, photoshopped, and enhanced. it took me a long time to get to where i am now with my skin and feel comfortable not editing my pictures

Honestly, I don’t really trust ads at all, especially those put out by the brands themselves. I tend to trust online reviews more (hence why I am here), but even if the post says #ad I am skeptical…

As a teen I would see the (what I now realize were heavily airbrushed ads) for foundation…..and be so frustrated it never looked like that. That was 40 years ago. Now we are ( I hope) savvier. But still. Dammit.
