My first seven string was a Jackson JS32 Dinky. I love affordable guitars and when I put a SD Nazgul/Sentient set inside it I was not disappointed. My second seven had a little more of a price tag and since has become my main guitar for everything. A Solar V1.7FBB. The Evertune bridge is exquisite on this instrument and it refuses to go out of tune. Now that I've had a taste of the Evertune bridge I don't think I'll ever go back to Floyd Roses, which I've loved on my six string guitars, full time anymore. Being in tune is a much higher priority to me than being able to do fancy whammy bar tricks.

My dad gifted me an Ibanez RG back in 2006. It originally belonged to my cousin but when his interest in guitar faded my dad bought it from him. He then modded the hell out of it before giving it to me for my 16th birthday. I still use the guitar to this day but it does collect more dust than it used to.

1: The first special guitar is my 2006 Fender Showmaster (my photo). Back in 2006, as Uni students tend to be, I was dirt poor, and lived on whatever the cafeteria served. BUT, I had that year's Fender catalogue, and I LUSTED after the Showmaster in Dark Cherry Burst. A Uni classmate had a Showmaster, and she let me play it. Yes, it was the Honey Burst, but I instantly fell in love. Even today, I can still clearly remember telling her I WILL own a Showmaster some day. Well, fast forward almost 20 years. I would occasionally browse Reverb in my spare time, and I saw Showmasters come and go. Most were that Honey Burst. Every once in a while, a Dark Cherry Burst would come along, but most were 2005, and never gave me any feeling of need. One day, one of them had a serial number starting with 06, which means it is a 2006. (The first four numbers of the serial number are how you date Asian-made guitars. First two are the year, and second two are the month.) As soon as I saw that number, I fell out of my chair. There it is, the guitar I wanted in 2006, in the colour I wanted in 2006, and it IS a 2006. I didn't ever bother giving an offer. Just BUY IT NOW. 2: The second special guitar is actually a bass, an LTD F-415FM. My MusicMan StingRay died in 2016. At the time, I didn't yet know anyone who did soldering, which meant the StingRay was officially dead. Its replacement was an LTD F-415FM. Instantly, it became my best friend. Well, during COVID, I needed money to pay rent, so that 415 got listed on Craigslist. When someone actually gave me an offer, I had a legitimate panic attack. Yes, it was a scam offer, but still. The realization that I might ACTUALLY part ways with that 415 was too much for me. I IMMEDIATELY took down that listing. I will find the money elsewhere. I don't care what I need to do, but I am NOT parting with that 415. Ever. Today, that 415 is STILL my daily driver, and I have never looked back. So, that Showmaster, and the LTD F-415FM are the two guitars I WILL NEVER sell. Ever.

My two special guitars are my old Takamine G530S and my Gibson Les Paul Junior. My dad was gifted the Takamine for Christmas when I was about six years old, and when he got his Taylor about eight or nine years later, soon enough, he gave the Tak to me, and it's never left my side. The Junior was a Christmas gift from Mom in 2019, and I'd wanted one for years because Green Day was the first band that I really, really got into and inspired me to play guitar.

The J custom sounds amazing I used to have a 6 string bass guitar that I loved, the day I got it, I started practicing a lot. I sold it and worked a summer to get a Fender Jazz bass following the advice of my bass teacher. Was nice at the beginning but I started to regret it. Now 10 years later, I still miss it and ordered yesterday the 2020 version of it : a 6 string premium ibanez. Guitar wise, I was really into down tuning and almost a year ago I got my first baritone with evertune. That one is a game changer. Can't stop playing it.

Great video. I'm in the process of restoring a 91 jackson with emg 81 and 85 from before they came with the new wiring style. I'll never play it again but it was my dream guitar for many years and it deserves respect. I printed new covers for the electronics, almost 4 decades was not kind to the electronics cover. I'm trying to figure out a way to fix the cosmetic problems before I rewire. The clear coat is very thin on the black paint. It has the best action and fastest fretboard I've ever played.

I have 2 that I just absolutely refuse to part with. The first is my RGMeadows T-style semi custom, built by a local luthier I know. The thing has major tuning issues that I have no idea how to fix, nor has a professional setup worked, but it has the best neck out of all my guitars and plays fantastically. Tons of mojo and ariff machine, have it permanently in drop D which kind of fixes the tuning problems. Second is my Ibanez RG6420 7 string. I got it used and beat up for $300 and I've put so much work into her I can't part with her. She's my first and, at the moment, only 7 string. Her name is Sasha and she's pretty.

I've got a very special guitar for me. It's a Cort EVL-K47b. It's my first guitar ever. It's a 7 string baritone with a 27 inch scale. I've bought it for a 400$ at times when I was a student. It was a big money for me. Then a war happened in Ukraine and I've missed it for a 3 years and after that it was returned to me. I so appreciated it so I decided to mod it and replace all of the electronics. So now it's a baritone with Fishman Fluence Modern 7 pickups set, Hipshot locking tuners, Tone Pros bridge and man, it's a war machine. Works great in any music genre. I love this guitar

I've got a few that are special to me, but my #1 is my Ibanez S2120xav Prestige. A good friend of line worked in a little local guitar shop years back, and this thing had been sitting there for a while. The guy who'd sold it had been desperate for money for whatever reason, and since it wasn't selling, he sold it to me for cost just to break even. I ended up getting it for just over $500. I've put a DiMarzio Evolution in the bridge, and have a Schaller in it because the original trem went bust after a number of years (wasn't in great condition when I got it), so that needs replacing with a proper Floyd Pro, but I'd never, never sell her. It's more valuable to me than any amount of money.

@Pete - Love your channel brother. Every Ibanez I have every played on was solid and the action was great. But.....also later developed wiring issues. Take it to your favorite lutheir or electronics guy and get them wired for battle. Keep cranking out the tunes, the word deserves to hear your talent. Two Guitar Stories: ONE: I have a Lady Luck electric acoustic that was set up by the late Mike Lull in Bellevue (Washington State in the US), and the action is till amazing to me. I record most of my music on it, and then just run it through VST's for crunchification. People cannot beleive that the guitar they are hearing in my tracks is an acoustic. They're like, "WHAT?!" But now that Mike has passed on and he did such amazing work on this guitar for me, and it the only one that he ever worked on for me, that guitar is special to me. Mike was the luthier to just about anyone who came out of the Pacififc Northwest and was famous. Mike's crew of trained lutheirs continue under his name though....and I need to actually make a trip there to have them setup a guitar that I have that I love, but that the action is less than ideal. Despite being an engineer for a living, I have somehow not figured out how to do my own setups so that the strings do not buzz and let are close enough to absolutely rip up and down the fretboard without even using my pick hand (righty). TWO: Also I have two ESP guitars with active pickups that were setup by Johnny DeVol at Bellevue American Music that existed for over 30 years in Bellevue WA. With the changes since the 90's where kids don't play guitar anymore, they play XBOX online, and people shopping more and more online, pluys Guitar Centers around every corner, Johnny went out of business. Miss that guy and his team, I bought almost every other guitar I have there, and Johnny did the setups personally on three of them. Those guitars will always be special to me and I will never let them go, for any amount. Anyone interested can check my attemnpts at musicat www.bitchute.com/senseiofsong/ When I grow up I wanna play like Pete. :-)

I have 2 guitars that are really special to me. My Schecter Omen 7, my first 7 string that i got as a birthday/christmas 2019 present. Second guitar i owned and the first one in 20 years! It really converted me to playing 7 strings! The second is my RGIB21 modded with Fishman Moderns, it just sounds and feels so good to play and made me fall in love with Ibanez guitars. So the next logical step... Ibanez 7 string!

I have RGD2127FX, RGIX7FDLB-NLB and RG1527 as 7 strings which I play the most. There's no story behind them really. I just bought them, because I liked them. I am somewhat a collector. When ever I see a beautiful guitar and if I have the money for it I'll buy it although the guitar must pass a very strict observation done by my wife. If she likes the looks too, it's a green light. 😅 That ending riff kicks ass on so many levels. 😍

I have an EM-18 (Martin) that my uncle gifted me and a BC Rich ST-III that I bought for myself. Those were the first two of many. The Martin is probably worthless at this point. Headstock was cracked and repaired. Still has good sound, though wiring should be looked at. The BC Rich still sounds and plays great. Wish I could say the same of myself!

2001ish bought a BC Rich warlock but it doesn't like low tuning. 2020 started playing again and some guy on KZfaq played Apex 2.0 on $checter MS7. I bought one and love it. Local shops doesn't even carry anything that nice or style. I also wanted a 6 string for low tuning, not knowing what to get I bought a Haze 6FF and holy crap that guitar loves drop B. That cheap guitar is really good.

My first guitar was a Gibson Sonex 180 Custom, a weird 3 year run of a "low end" Gibson Les Paul-style. Has these wild open face dual humbucking "Dirty Fingers" pickups, with a coil-over switch. It's made of this stupid heavy resin stuff that was supposed to emulate Ebony or Mahogany wood without being as expensive as either. The fret board is Mahogany that plays and sounds like Ebony, and the neck is Mahogany. So it's crazy heavy to wear on stage but it sounds SO HEAVY xD It's the crunchiest, meanest sounding guitar I've ever played. Pretty standard scale length but I started putting heavy gauge strings on it and it plays it Drop A quite well. I got it when I was 15, on a total fluke. Had been hanging on the rack at the local guitar shop for a few months and I'd been guitar shopping for like 4 years. The Epiphone Les Paul I'd been eyeballing and playing all the time but was *just* out of my price range was sold one day, and I was bummed out. Sat in my spot all dejected teenage boy and looked for something to play. Noticed the muted dark metallic fleck red finish and black pickguard on an old Les Paul knockoff looking body and looked at the headstock: The Gibson Guitar Company I spazzed, tried it out, fell in love, called my mom, and we bought it that day, was just inside my 400 dollar price range she'd given me. Still have it and play it to this day. I'm better on it playing than any other guitar I ever pick up haha Thanks for this awesome video! And do something Psycroptic oriented soon! :D Would love to see how you capture their vibe on an original riff!

Jackson Pro Series Misha Mansoor HT6. I had a decent schecter but for some reason I just hated everything about it, ended up going to a guitar store and they happened to have a B stock Misha Jackson after I had been looking at them online all night, figured it was a sign. I've never enjoyed playing guitar so much, I love that guitar.

First guitar was pitch black Ibanez RGR321. I was quite hesitant to actually get it since I wanted to spend money on video games instead but my dad twisted my arm a bit since he know I was musically inclined. Best thing he ever did for me. Played the f**k out of it to the point my mom threatened to throw it away since it was interfering with my highschool studies. Since upgraded the standard pickups with a set of fishman fluence modern humbuckers. 2nd Guitar was an Ibanes artwood premium. Sounds amazing, everything else is a bit if a clusterf**k though. Neck was permanently warped so they swapped the neck out since it was under warranty. Knobs come loose every few months, all the screws are rusted. Some screws cracked the wood leaving ugly blemishes. Pickups are very low output but the sound is so unique and I get such a great variety of tones that I'm struggling to decide if I should upgrade them or not.

I don't really like Ibanez, but they were definitely pioneers in the 7-strings. Nowadays I think there are multiple manufacturers that have interesting models, but Ibanez was the first to mass produce several 7-strings.

The fact that Ibanez hasn't figured out that 26.5" is the **correct** scale length for 7 strings is inexcusable blasphemy. Schecter wins.

@@ptdakos I've had a C7 Hellraiser for 14 years, couldn't be happier. Their 8 strings are 28" scale if you are feeling adventurous. I bought a Banshee Elite-8 in 2015, best decision ever. 28 inch 8 string is like rediscovering guitar all over again. Loads of fun.

They look so good. I have an Ibanez GRGR09LTD Howl at the moon edition with the same overlay on the body, but grey and my tuning pegs are on the bottom side not top. First guitar I ever bought almost 12 years ago. Its in bad shape and needs a lot of tlc and also an active pickup upgrade. I love it. ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/GRGR09LTD
