I live in Florida where the humidity is always high. I use the OXO shaker for my sugar: It allows an easy pore into a spoon or measuring cup and it has an airtight seal so the sugar doesn't clot. It works well for a salt container for the same reasons.

I can co-sign on the piggy steamer. I have one and our family uses it every single day. Microwaving anything is quicker and easier and comes out more evenly with it. It prevents microwave splatter and is very easy to clean. Had one for maybe 2 years now and as someone who hates "stuff" in the kitchen, I would consider this to be essential.

There is another one that you should be aware of: the Oxo double-ended melon baller. But not for balling melons: for coring apples and pears. (Does anyone even ball melons anymore?) The melon baller removes the minimal amount of edible fruit flesh while neatly excising the core. Another couple of quick cuts with the melon baller remove the stem and the bud end. Compared to traditional apple coring devices, this gives you several more bites of edible fruit.

Pass on all these kitchen clutter "gadgets." I already own a colander of useful size, a mandolin, a sharp knife and plastic wrap (also a reusable lid with a vent). I recognize these might be useful for those with disabilities, with smaller kitchens or with the belief that pineapple should only be served in rings. For me, they won't "make eating your fruits and veggies much easier" but waste space and money.

Has ATK ever researched an oil or liquid sprayer? I have one called Misto that can be found on Amazon. It is a sprayer that you can fill with your own oil. It is like a spray can (PAM) but it is refillable. Just fill it, pump it up, and spray (supposedly). It works ok but when filled with something like olive oil it tends to just spray it in a small stream and not so much like a mist. I would love to find a new one that works with oils.

@@sandrah7512 After I posted that earlier reply I did happen to read those comments about the mandolin. I am pretty sure I put that other one on the shopping list as well. The only concern I had about the Norpro was the ratings that mentioned receiving counterfeit items.
