The slaughter would be worse under Trump. At least Biden is sending humanitarian aid to Gaza. Palestinians aren't doing themselves any favors by accepting help from Hamas, even if it's the only real choice they have. Israel also has to maintain their sovereignty because they've been relentlessly bombarded by the surrounding Arab nations in the past, but they aren't doing themselves any favors by needlessly killing civilians and those providing humanitarian aid. It's a horrible situation all around, and neither side has the moral high ground. Plus, if the US doesn't provide aid to Israel, it'll mean that an alliance with the US doesn't really mean much, and that'll give the geopolitical advantage to Russia and China.

Influence is how countires become and remain superpowers. We not only do this in the Middle East, we do this all over the world. The creation of the state of Israel was a fantastic opportunity for the US to get a foothold in the region, as the US wasn't invited to the party when France and Great Britain took out a napkin and decided on the borders of Middle Eastern countries. But it doesn't mean we were not already in the region, decades before the creation of the state of Israel.
