Journey to the Microcosmos

Go to NordVPN.com/mi... and use code “MICROCOSMOS” to get an exclusive 2 year plan with 1 month free and a special gift.
The microcosmos is not always a graceful space. Sometimes an organism just needs to get around the way it gets around, even if that means looking like a swimming elephant head with a truncated snout at one end and a rat tail at the other.

There was an old flash game way back in the day where you had to play as a an animal cell. You had to manage all the different organelles and keep them from being damaged by viruses. He also had to manage your cell's energy, ATP,DNA and RNA synthesis, managing waste ECT. It was very in-depth. There was even a story too. Something about a planet full of platypus people sending a cell off into space because their plan is going to be destroyed by a asteroid.

Could it be that DNA instructions are compressed information and when its uncompressed to RNA it makes sense? Like if you zip a txt file and look at its binary, it won't look like a txt file anymore but gibberish until its uncompressed again
@olekkowalewski8530
@olekkowalewski8530 Жыл бұрын
In a sense you can understand it this way but right now, as stated in the video, we understand that RNA editing allows for an extra step of control in the process of making proteins and other active molecules such as regulatory RNA. Even your cells use a method of RNA editing to remove sequences of DNA that do not code any elements of a protein yet are right in the middle of it's coded sequence. This allows cells to build more proteins then they have genes for by chosing to skip or include coding elements of the protein's sequnce.

That's the thing. We still don't know much about it. This exists to foster research about it. It can be easy to think that everything scientific is all figured out, but science isn't just about the final results, science is the improving and refining of information aswell as the persuit of topic that we know practically nothing about, and trying to find new questions even.

6:55 That sounds a lot like how information is conveyed through language. "I not need to wright words well for you understand what me mean." The above sentence was technically nonsense, but I'm sure you were able to decipher a coherent message. Maybe we just don't understand the language well enough to fill in the gaps.

Theres a lot of research on the "chainmail" kDNA, since it is found in human parasites. We know that the structure (is it linked, unlinked, how many circles?, how is it (not) linked?) is species-specific. We also know that the kDNA is often bound to the flagellar motor which might allow for torsional sensing? We know that the replicative process is a bit of a nightmare and is probably a drug target. (also a lot more) Really I think its fascinating but still mysterious and I recommend reading any recent review article that comes up when you google "kDNA".

This video had a kind of passive, uninteresting visual background and a nerdy audio dissertation; would've worked if there was a close up of this "DNA chain mail" and seeing it function.

It does not know, but it does do as it is told. Self editing or allowing errors to go through as it is directed to do. It can not choose between good and evil. It does not know what those things are. It is essentially a just a thing that does its job and has no knowledge. It does not know when its time to end comes. I choose to make this comment because I can. I am different in that I know good from evil. I can make a choice for me. I can not interfere with others. I can thank that which made me to do what is good as opposed to evil.
