I think poisonous potatoes were added for brewing poison potions but then they changed it. Other seemingly useless items find uses in different challenges. Carrots are a terrible food source, but can be useful in super flat survival. Rotten flesh can be used to make yourself hungry to eat more suspicious stew in ultra hardcore (found this one out recently). Gotta get creative!

Hear me out though: Villager trading. It takes the same amount of effort to grow a field of beetroots and a field of another crop, but you can often get WAAAAY better deals when trading with beetroots, down to a one for one trade if you get lucky. All it takes is just one pass through a zombification system, which you should be doing for all of your villagers anyway.

People hate on Copper too much imo. I think they meant it to specifically be used as a building material, that's why it's so easy to get so much of it while mining! Copper is a great decoration block to mix into builds that you want to give a historic feel to as they're around your world longer. I'm not saying it couldn't do with some more uses, I'm just saying it's a good building block in the right kinds of builds. Toycat showed off a ridiculous use for it lol. Poisonous Potatoes give you a slight saturation-boost. Sure, they aren't good to fill your hungerbar, but atleast the decreasing-rate isn't as high anymore, compared to when you eat other raw food. In case of an emergency, definitely better than any raw food (no matter which one. And it's better than cookies. Far better than cookies. Cookies are pointless and the worst food in the game, as they don't fill the saturation at all while only filling half a hungerpoint. In an emergency situation, cookies would not help you.)
@saffral
@saffral Жыл бұрын
Cookies are better food value than bread if you have cocoa beans readily available. Per wheat used cookies give 8 hunger (4 haunches) and 1.6 saturation, while bread only gives 1.7 hunger (less than one haunch) and 2 saturation. Even if the hunger bar goes down quicker, cookies are still a better food per wheat invested than bread. That's purely in a "eat to stay full" general survival sense. In dangerous situations having faster acting food and higher saturation is far more important. Also in terms of "worst food" for foods that don't actively hurt you (like pufferfish) the tropical fish is by far the worst food in the game.

In part one of the suggestions in the "best suggestions of 2022" isn't that bad an idea, just needs tweaking because the person who wrote it is wrong about using gold in electronics. Gold is hardier than copper but copper conducts better so making gold powered rails makes sense because in the real world gold is actually used in electronics to make them more resistant to corrosion but copper ones could simply go faster because copper is more conductive. They should just make them break down over time when near water or being rained on and break when you pass over it when corroded. That way you can still use them outside or even in water just fine with gold without fear of them corroding but overall the rail system could be a lot faster. It likely wouldn't be that hard since they already have code that could almost certainly be repurposed for it. The copper rails corroding near water or when being rained on and breaking when passing over it is basically just how farmland works, after all. Then slap the normal powered rail code in there with a bigger number for speed modification too and just like that they'd have another use for copper that brings rails more into balance with other transportation methods.

At least you should be able to create a potion out of poisoned potatoes. Like a stinkbomb (splash potion). throw it at a bunch of mobs (maybe ineffective with the undead), so they will flee for a short moment to give you room. that would be a funny little joke and reminds of the by now classic "Saints Row III" (the fart in a jar). In PVP-Combat it probably wouldn´t work that way, but a side effect could be a small green cloud, making it difficult to see for a moment. Edit: someone should make a mod where you can use copper-tools (!) to produce alcohol from potatoes and wheat. the Minecraft Prohibition-Mod.

Bread is such a terrible use for wheat. It gives you the same amount of food and saturation as a baked potato, except you only get one wheat per plant harvested, while with potatoes you get 1-5 potatoes (more with fortune), and it takes 3 wheat to make each bread, but only one potato to make each baked potato. Especially with campfires being a thing to conserve fuel, the only reason to use wheat for bread is when you find a village in the very early game and just want food as quick as possible, but those are non-renewable sources of food. Meanwhile wheat has so many other possible uses besides bread. To list a few: hay bales, target blocks, packed mud (and therefore mud bricks), breeding sheep, cows, llamas, making cake and cookies (resource to hunger wise, cookies are better food value than bread on Bedrock [6 wheat = 24 cookies vs. 6 wheat = 2 bread], except for taking far longer to eat). And trading with villagers, but that's another thing that potatoes do better, because you get more from harvesting the same amount of plants. The only reason people like bread is because it's been in the game for a super long time (bread was the fifth food added to the game, the third that is still in the game, and pre-dates any form of meat) and because you can get seeds in most biomes by breaking available grass, no exploring needed.

Exp since I just mine it when I see it while caving and exp when in auto-smelter I can get whenever (I smelt just about everything in that). The blocks are decoration. 2: I like Potatoes. Put in Auto - smelter = Baked Potatoes + exp - put those in auto-composter = bonemeal. Potato 65% and baked potato 85% chance of increasing the composter. Also I always have four farming villagers with all four of the crops for trading. So my farm also includes: 3: Beetroots for bonemeal, dye, villagers. 4: Terracotta of all colours, glazed and not. Also concrete and coloured wool because I like things colourful.

Just use carrots to make more carrots, get some villagers, breed them together, get good trades, use zombie to turn them into zombie villagers, heal them, repeat until 1 carrot for 1 emerald for a bunch of villagers, and 1 emerald for 1 golden carrot for a bunch of other villagers. Then you can trade the carrots to get emeralds, and then trade the emeralds to get golden carrots. Just like that you can turn carrots into golden carrots. Or you can just make an automatic wood farm to turn wood saplings into infinite wood and use the logs to make sticks, trade for emeralds, use the emeralds to buy golden carrots. Then get it to where you can get enough golden carrots in one go so that by the time you need more the trades will have reset and you can farm more wood or carrots for trades for emeralds to buy more golden carrots with. Then you never have to eat anything other than golden carrots, golden apples, and enchanted golden apples ever again. Farming beetroot to make infinite red dye? Why? Just make a bonemeal farm and then use the bonemeal to power an automatic flower farm. Then put down some red poppies and run the automatic farm. You rapidly get loads of poppies renewably, and you can use that to get infinite poppies and get way more red dye way quicker that way. And poppies are way, way more commonplace than beetroots are in Minecraft... I mean, red concrete is a better replacement for netherrack than red teracotta is, but, I mean, okay... I mean you need red dye to make red concrete and red concrete is awesome, so red dye is a good thing...

Those arrows are very useful..."So why would they allow those positive effect to be placed on arrows but not the others?" There is an alternate reality (where it be like that) where I'm watching a toycat video that brings up that exact point. Lingering healing pots creates a cloud around an area...i fight in it gaining health while the zombies and skellys and wither skells take A.O.E. damage. OK, LAST EXAMPLE. Now, all you need is a caldron, and you can get 16 arrows. A healing potion only heals you once 16 healing arrows heals you 16 times... To me the jump boost is only useless because it boosts only half a block per level, meaning a level 1 potion won't help you traverse rough terrain. If they boosted it to 1 or 1.5 blocks per level, I'd consider making them. Slow falling is useful for the Dragon fight if you're like me and awful with a bow and arrow so you have to pillar to the crystals. Tuff blocks I recently started using as path blocks. They also blend really well with mossy cobble. I didn't even know you could eat poisonous potatoes. Pro gamer tip: try eating spider eyes to mix up your poisonous potato diet.

So based on your theory, when will they find the true use for diamonds? They're too ubiquitous and unless you're clumsy you dont need many but get thousands of them in long-term survival.

A couple things, 1. You could use slow falling arrows paired with a rip tide trident to launch (with elytra) instead of spamming fireworks hoping it works. 2. GOATS, the main thing that goats do is ramming and jumping. How funny would it be to watch goats jumping with Leaping 2 and/or slow falling.

I feed my beetroot to pigs to breed them. The pork is so much better than the original beetroot. Which is sad as I like beetroot irl.

I disagree about questionable potatoes. It is great to bank XP in Cookers then route the cooked potatoes automatically to composters then use the compost to operate a sugar cane machine or a variety of other uses. XP is accumulated at a greater rate when food and ores are cooked.

Really hope people don't think eyes on a potato mean it's gone bad. Note a potato can go toxic and become poisonous with out eyes on it at all. Green. Green is what you wanna look for. If your tatter is turning green 'ish' then trash it and don't cook it, got some eye but not green or soft the pop em off and cook up.

National parks ARE valuable on many levels. For one, you go there to enjoy the experience, you're a little bit less likely to get a depression. This way they're as valuable as a medecine you buy at a pharmacy.
