You missed the most important application of these cards. 3 summons means -6k LP. Make Verte and pay the last 2k. Consistent selfTK bot for farming gems in MD :)

Temple place shield and caveman from deck etc. I know only paying 2000 is functionally the same as paying 6000 when it comes to time rules, but do you think there’s any merit to running one cross and zero exodia pieces? I’m thinking less about mitigating the life point cost and more about the card in hand I could use for something with a discard outlet like fiendsmith or that has spell synergy like striker or witchcrafter. My biggest hang up in the engine is that the pseudo discard for temple has to be a monster and that might feel worse. Love the content, it’s been neat watching you get better at this skill set every video

An engine that I think its worth looking into (and its arriving very soon) is the Melodious/Ostinato engine. It essentially feels like the Return of Brilliant fusion, its pretty neat.

even as a engine playing 1 cross to not pay 6000 lp is a smart idea, even if you dont run the exodia pieces or fusion it still can be revealed to avoid the 2000 cost

Sengenjin is a millenium monster in the ocg name so its more likely theyre just gonna give him an errata like summoned skull in tcg

I think its still worth playing 1 Cross just for the free reveals. Yes LP doesnt matter that much but I REALLY dont like the prospect of summoning 3 monsters for 6000 lp and not being able to summon more of the engine for the grind game and ontop of that the low lp makes it that much easier to lose.

I think ogre is worth mentioning more than ash since it denies the body and they don't resolve cuz they're continuous spells. The protection affect wouldn't apply because it's not on field as a monster yet right in the case of the sangenjin retrain?

my heart is telling me that there's a tear deck with these and the earthbound engine. one of these with any earthbound in hand makes the 6 via sprind. the 6 searches ground keeper. normal ground keeper special line walker. line walker add harmonic synchro fusion. harmonic synchro fusion for afd and geo kracken. and then you search two field spells. maybe reichphobia and perlereino but there are other options. you also have a level three tuner around. ofc you can always search if you have tear access you don't need the millennium engine and can do whatever you want with it. the earthbound engine is still good on its own. gremlina is still a level 6 for beatrice but you can also normal ground keeper and special the 5 to make a level 6 synchro for beatrice if needed. if you start line walker, it either searches harmonic and use it and a level 3 to make beatrice, or you can search the earthbound field spell for an extra normal if you have a way to get ground keeper. I don't have everything yet but i'm pretty sure there's something here. note that stone sweeper searches any level 3 or lower fiend tuner so there may be something there. as well. maybe you play a vision resonator or something as an alternate target. ten earthbound monsters is probably enough but rhino warrior also gets one in grave which is all you need as long as you have your normal. one for one is amazing ofc. you get locked into synchros and fusions once you actually play the earthbound cards but that's kinda whatever given you're playing tear.

Exodia just got a lot more interesting. This engine also looks very adaptable, letting deck building ideas spread far. I use to duel when lightsworns were meta but life kinda just hit hard on me. Mostly just duel on md now

Not gonna pretend I’m very knowledgeable when it comes to YGO when it comes to using these types of engines for deck building, but it is interesting to listen to the possibilities that can be done with the millennium monsters. It low key reminds me of how dangers were so popular when they first came out, just probably won’t be that meta relevant. I can definitely see volcanic players foaming at the mouth if they see their opponent spend 6k life first turn of a duel lol

The fact that u can make Apo before normal summoning in snake eyes is disgusting. That just trades for 2 to 4 interuptions. U could even just go witch with 3 bodies on field and summon Apo on the 5th summon with 4 negates. This sounds incredible in theory, but I’m interested to see what happens when these are released.

So sengenjin is a weird card just because it wasn't translated properly to begin with because I assume they had no idea it was supposed to relate to the other "millennium" cards. It's japanese name is "千年原人" which broken down is "thousand year old primitive man" or "millennium man". Just thought people might find it interesting why they were including a card that seemingly had nothing to do with the others lol

6k is a hefty cost. But the biggest issue I have is this set is legal the day before NAWCQ it’ll be hell getting hands on cards from this set for strategies. And playtesting beforehand is restricted at best
