Dustin Diamond will be best remembered for playing Samuel "Screech" Powers on the "Saved By The Bell" TV franchise. He sadly passed away on February 1, 2021, from small cell carcinoma of the lungs. The former TV star was first admitted to the hospital for a "mystery disease." His friend Dan Block told The Sun that Diamond knew he didn’t have a long time left to live but still hoped that somehow, he would find a way.
Even though Diamond has dies, Block revealed the last days of Diamond and his emotional and touching last wishes before his death. To find out more about Diamond's last moments and wishes, watch this video.

This is the only celebrity I have ever met in real life. I always held him in a higher place than the media wanted us to. I grew up watching him on TV. And at 43 myself. I am reminded that nothing in life is promised. Even life itself......

I grew up on saved by the bell. Screech made saved by the bell. Really sad all this. Our childhoods are slipping away... Wish he left knowing what a great posotive impact he left on many kids growing up watching sbtb and how creative he was. Wish he left knowing how valuable he was to this world, and wish he had more positive people around him. He was brilliant! Wish he had more support throughout his life

Dustin was a regular customer of mine in the mid-2000's. His true demeanor was definitely at odds with the persona he wore not only as the goofy character that launched him to fame, but also the abrasive personality he displayed in the "reality" shows he felt he needed to do as an adult to remain relevant or keep his bills paid. He was nothing but a pleasant, soft-spoken guy. Though I know they have their own reasons to begrudge him, I can't help but scoff at the words some people used in tribute to him when they likely wouldn't have taken his phone calls two weeks ago. Rest in peace and thanks for the laughs, Dustin.

Such sad news. Screech was my favorite. People will always talk. Let them. A very smart man said: " If you live for people's acceptance, you will die from their rejection." Don't worry about what haters have to say. They are not worth it.

He had gotten so much negativity & being the butt of the jokes, he was afraid to seek medical treatment to prevent being made fun of. A lot of child stars go through so much tragedy. Hollywood treats them like disposals. Once they turn into adults and find no use for them, many of them get black listed.

Early on. Here. Died so young. My wife just passed in april from stagd 4 small cell lung cancer. Too many people far too young. We need fo find a cure for this disease

I seen a interview with Dustin about half a year ago, he said he was trying to reach his former saved by the Bell cast members and none of them would respond. Now I hear some of them want to do tributes to him, how funny people are sometimes

Awww - that’s awful to hear. I always felt he was the underdog on Saved by the Bell and those fellow actors on that show were a bunch of egomaniacs that looked down on him back then like he was less than them. NOPE. Nobody cares about any of those flakes now. Dustin acted out negatively years later I believe because he was angry about his degrading treatment from many people over the years that made him look like a fool. Shame the good people get taken early.

Yes, it seems like Dustin was a good guy with a big heart. He suffered a lot of trauma over the years, part of it stemming from SBTB. But he did make mistakes, and those mistakes hurt people. So yes, love, respect and mourn him. But let's not induct him into sainthood.

@@bipolarbear9952 Sainthood, no. I agree. My thing is mainly that the fellow actors on SBTB acted like they were so entitled and he was never as ‘good’ as them. It was pretty obvious. And, whose to say his behavior after that show finished was him acting out and that he was not mentally right after that. SBTB was in the public eyes for millions to see. It wasn’t like he just had a private bad personal school experience. It was blasted over the airwaves.

Damn he died so fast. He must have really waited until the last minute to get treatment because I know some cancers can kill fast but that's abnormally fast. They said he had pain and lumps all over his body when he went into the hospital. All because he didn't want to have pictures taken of him going to the ER or whatever. Sad.

Thank you for this video. I was never a fan nor did I follow him at any point. I was certainly aware of his existence. I have been compelled, since his death to find out more about him, without judgement, and this was it. Thank you Dustin for doing you and making those around you better people. Dustin Diamond made the show, I dont think it would have lasted very long without him. Its unfortunate things ended up this and his legacy will forever be tainted for the things he said long after the show ended.
