Little bit of relaxed day today after yesterdays large mileage on the rowing machine. You have to be able to listen to your body and do best for it even on the times where yo want to keep pressing on. Today we looked at some really simple stretched you can do that are applicable to rowing. Hopefully you can use them to improve your rowing!

if you struggle to sit or squat down, use a wall against your back to help you sit in the position , one of my girl friends who was a dancer would sit in the splits for up to 30 min to stretch.

Stumbled across this one just recently, we'll see what happens as I have ongoing shoulder issues from too much volleyball when I was younger. Great Vids all the way around.

Hi Cam, just wondering what you think of the decision to postpone the Olympics, and also how this might change your plans? I would imagine that trials will have to re-run next year and this might open a door for you.

Yep, definitely more of stretching excercises - invaluable to us auld gits! Question: is it better to do some light training, even on the ergo, first to warm up rather than attempt stretching from cold? Cheers Cam 😎

I suppose that would depend on the stretching! Being too cold and heading into stretching wouldn't be ideal

Hi Cam. I have been rowing for half a year by now and I have a problem. I have since the beginning been rowing on too high a drag factor (220 roughly - i.e 10) how can I deload to a more reasonable 140ish. My record 2k and 10k have been done on this and I am really used to it.

Teodor Vikbladh I’d say gradually put it lower every session from now on? In blocks of 5 (220 to 215) maybe, that way the difference is not too big. Just like with everything else, do it consistently and take the time until it feels comfortable.

I'd say similar to Maria. Just easing it down gradually so there are no sudden changes that your body isn't used to should be fine!

-train in an effective way (not too much training, your body is still growing etc., make enough breaks so your body can build muscles) -be, eat and live healthy -just follow your training, the way your trainers gave it to you, they know what they are doing!
