I like how almost every mcyt musician supports each other

I love how this was basically just one huge cautionary tale told to Tommy?? And even though it may be harsh-- "If you think you're a hero, die like one," "told you so," "don't blame me if you die"-- the last lines "just live this time with caution, I'll make sure you'll be fine" shows that he still cares. He just doesn't want history to repeat, and even though he doesn't want to be blamed for Tommy's death... That doesn't mean he won't help Tommy.

I like how in both the smp and in this song, Techno comes off as harsh, like a villain, yet trying to warn. On multiple occasions, he’s tried explaining his points, and has been helpful, but is written off as a villain. A lot of the people don’t seem to listen, we’ve seen them interrupt Technoblade numerous times. But when we see Ranboo listen and not shut Techno down, he actually is a bit swayed, even if he’s a pushover. I don’t know, this is just how I see it

So basically techno is singing to tommy. Telling him about theseus. And near the end it was about tommy making a home under his house. Correct me if I'm wrong

Kanyas song was more about techno’s battle style while this is like he’s telling a story to tommy

"Just live this time with caution - I'll make sure you'll be fine." You hit Techno's character on the head here. I really feel this is how Techno would tell a story if he got time to write it out. And that last line? It's so good. ( I hear Techno's grin here, you just know he says that and there's a small grin. ) I love the choice of somber for him, fits Techno's character so well. I love the way the vocals are presented and how everything flows together- this is so good.

Everybody talking about the “If you think your a hero die like one,” line, but can we take a second to appreciate “He did what he must, and like him you shone too much,”? It just fits Tommy’s character so well, and I can see it as something techno would say... beautiful!

BANGER SONG BANGER SONG AS ALWAYS Time to write an essay: There are actually so many parallels to be drawn between the legends of the heroes and the story of Technoblade- not even Tommy. Theseus was renowned for his feats, but eventually, right after his peak, he resorted to gallivanting around the world and eventually crossed the line while trying to kidnap Persephone. In the end, his fatal flaw was hubris, just like so many others, but the thing is the character that Technoblade has crafted for himself has the story of a hero, yet his flaw is peer pressure- definitely not a flaw of the ancient ones. Technoblade is interesting not only because of that, but also because there has never been a clear hero arc- yet we all feel so inclined to believe that he was once a hero before he blew the area up with withers. It's probably most likely due to his recent retirement stuff and everything, but the point remains that from the way Techno writes his speeches, we believe that Techno was once wronged. That being said, you could count his short time on Pogtopia's side to be the hero arc right before things went wrong, but it just kind of feels... wrong when you think of it that way. (if you couldn't tell already, I'm very clearly a techno apologist) There's another parallel I find particularly interesting, and that's that many of the greek heroes were betrayed by their family members in some way- Heracles died of poison administered by his wife, Perseus was thrown out to sea by his own grandfather, and Jason died on the Argo, all alone, his two sons stabbed to death by his ex-wife, Medea, who had also killed his to-be bride and his to-be father in law. Techno's been used and betrayed by Tommy, Tubbo and Wilbur, and he thought that Phil had, too. Before December 16th, it's likely that he wanted to remain a loner out of spite, purely just to show the world that he doesn't need the familial bonds everyone says he's tied to. Something interesting that the song made me realize, is that during the entire “You think you’re a hero Tommy? Then die like one!” is the fact that it’s kinda about Tommy’s arrogance as well. He had asked if he thought he was a hero, because it would get to his brain, and make him more arrogant. He wanted to stop that overly arrogant behavior before it started. And don’t get me wrong, Tommy is already a very arrogant character. He does refer to himself as a “hero”, and the “protagonist” and with Wilbur he also says the thing about him “always being in the right”. But it seems like techno was partly trying to stop it before it started too much.

This sounds exactly how I expected Technoblade's Theme would be. It doesn't sound angry or bloodlusting at all, seeing how he even told Phil he doesn't want to listen to his voices, just want to be a good person. He doesn't like his actions at all, portrayed by: It isn't your choice, you were destined to, yet he'll kill you if it's necessary to fulfill his ideals.

I like to think when Techno says “ Don’t blame me if you die just live this time with caution I’ll make sure you’ll be fine “ that he said this to Tommy once when they where kids when Tommy was getting chased by a hound of mobs and big brother Techno comes to the rescue to help Tommy so when in the future when Techno and Tommy’s relationship becomes more distant especially when Techno kills Tommy’s best friend and goes on a massacre killing everybody that they stop talking to each other completely with Tommy thinking that his only other sane brother/Techno has also stopped being the old strict caring brother that he once new and relied on so when Tommy comes to Techno for Shelter and help out of desperation and Techno says these lines that it would hit different for Tommy like give him hope that his old brother isn’t gone but just changed and hope for things to go back as they used to by being a proper family again instead of being separated and hating, using one another. Also when Techno calls Tommy Theseus a respected hero of ancient lore that he says it in a way of respect for Tommy that he’s proud enough of Tommy for being and doing something that Techno can not by being a true hero and trying to do his best even if he’s going to enviably lose and Techno is proud of who Tommy is and calling him Theseus is a way of him telling Tommy that.

I feel that people villainize Techno too much. He is a man true to his words and has never acted outside of his promises. He was recruited to destroy Manburg. He was the core force of the rebellion, whether it was in providing resources, fighting in the frontlines, countering Dream, and just overall boosting morale with his presence. He said he would destroy the government and when he fulfilled his words people were shocked as if he didn't already say his plan dozens of times over. He was used, thrown away, and then stigmatized as a villain. Everything he said about government, corruption, and power all were proven true, especially in the recent events. He's fiercely loyal to his true friends but is still capable of acting out in his ideals and beliefs. When the butcher squad tried to execute him it shows perfectly the state of their government, Tommy's exile strengthens his point as well. At the end of the day, Techno seems more like a player in a chess game rather than a piece on the board not just because he is helping to write the script but also because of how enlightened he is

I’d like to think Techno’s origin story was he was adopted by the piglins of the nether and trained by them. Then the piglins faced a threat, and Techno saved them, but the piglins turned on him, outcasting and exiling him from the nether, or at least from the piglins. He was orphaned. Or so he thought. His bloodfather Phil found him and brought him back with his family, eventually becoming the warrior we all know today. idk bout you but that sounds like a cool plot idea, maybe as a one off animatic or something like that.

Here’s something everyone forgets about Theseus. After he saved his people, he became a rotten, disgusting, person. He abandoned his wife on an empty island. He hung out with vicious centaurs. Techno didn’t mention this in the story, of course. Nice touch

“If you think you’re a hero, die like one.” That line was said so sadly. In other songs I’ve heard it’s always said kinda angrily, but this feels sad. More resigned. Like Techno had finally accepted that that was Tommy’s fate but didn’t like it. I think I prefer it this way. It feels more real.

I kinda imagine Techno singing quietly to himself one night when he woke up from one of his deep slumbers. Tommy listening from the basement, as Techno played the violin to this somber melody Philza taking a break from any project he was working on and listening to the melody as it played throughout the base. Almost like a warning. A sad one. Tommy never listened unfortunately And I can imagine Techno kinda blaming himself..

i love how techno did basically everything he did in manberg simply to warn of what would come. spawning withers, massacring those people, blowing up more tnt. it didn't actually achieve anything in and of itself. it was a show of strength, he never wanted tommy to fail- he was warning them of the unforeseen consequences of their actions, and he warned them in only universal language.

i like how theres hints towards the fact, no matter what tommy does, he will always be, the hero

I know this might not make sense to you guys, but I think when Technoblade warns Tommy and says that he's like Theseus, I think in reality, Technoblade is actually more like Theseus than Tommy. Think about it, Technoblade spent ages preparing, throwing himself into danger to defeat the enemy (Manberg) for Pogtopia, his "city". But he got exiled and everyone (at least most of them) from Pogtopia hates him. Just my headcannon!
