Back in March, two Atlanta women were ambushed by suspected robbers, robbers who quickly regretted their attack when they found out the women were armed themselves. The entire ordeal went viral on social media after being recorded by a nearby camera. In this Shade Room Exclusive interview, Justin Carter was able to speak with one of the victims of the attack, Tyesha Alexander, and get her perspective on the incident. Alexander, who runs a successful wig company believes that this attack was the result of a hit someone may have put out on her. One of the alleged suspects Dameka Malcolm has since been taken into custody on felony aggravated assault, armed robbery and firearms charges. Could this have been an isolated event? Or could there be more behind this attack? The Shade Room investigates…

I am actually very impressed at her situational awareness. How she paid attention to whether she heard any doors opening and closing and things like that. Bravo, those two nimrods chose the wrong person to try to victimize... She should think about becoming an instructor. The lessons in situational awareness alone is worth more than any lesson in shooting accurately.

I like what the instructor said, "It's not knowing how to shoot, but when to shoot." Also, I like that the sister had her gun out pro-active, prepared and aware and responded accordingly. Because the predator ambusher already had her gun out, running toward them in a short distance. Plus, after she got hit, she fired off shots and got back up. Perhaps buying a gun should also come with buying bullet proof vest.

Be careful going to bars or other places where people are drinking. You might not be as aware of your surroundings if you are under the influence or who may be watching or targeting you in these settings. Even being out later at night should be avoided as much as possible.

The way she describe how the sound around the area was quite sound really scary. Seeing her looking back like that & her saying that she started to walk faster because it was to quite was even more scary. That's a feeling I hate feeling which is why I am always aware of my surroundings & the fact that her gut told her to pull out that gun & look behind her saved her. I am shaking a little because I am imagining exactly what it must of looked like & felt like. Walking down an empty hall at night while it's quite & the next thing you hear is foot stomping & someone in a green hoodie while wearing a masks is rushing at you out of nowhere with speed just to harm to a soul.

The girl with the robbery said that her friend invited her out for drinks but didn’t drink anything. And these robbers knew which floor to hide on before trying to rob her. The girl also said that her friend was taking forever to open the door to the apartment after the gunfight happened. It’s very likely The friend set her up. I’m happy she was prepared and safe!!!💕

People where I'm from if they knew they would wanna rob me. The last time someone that wasnt related to me been to my house was maybe 2018. I'll go to ppl my friends apts sometimes...rarely tho and just be careful. Before you park even if you tired just spin the block like twice... dnt be on you phone outside your home and if you live in a city like me (NYC) and your walking always take different routes... if you go to the store one way when you come back go a different way... the next day go a different way. Prevent any chance of someone getting the drop.

Listen, my mother in-law is 90! She's been carrying her Bible and her gun, for as long as I can remember! She's in her right state of mind and all. Im in the medical field and I travel, she said these very words to me, I'm expecting you to have yours by the end of next month. After seeing this, yes, I'm getting mine. I can’t understand for the life of me why someone would try to kill or rob these hard working women. Reminds me of the young lady, Destiny Harrison who was killed in her Salon and the other young Lady, Ms. Shanquilla Robinson. Hurts my heart. These stories are way too frequent for women in the beauty industry, which is so strange. One beauty KZfaqr TierraJ, recently shared that her Warehouse was robbed. Like Opening up a business is not easy and to become a successful at that… Only for a hating 🤬 to come and try to take it all away Or to try to take yourself life. Smfh unbelievable. I’m just happy to hear more from this young lady who survived this and had the sense enough to prepare herself and act on her instincts. Bless her heart

This young lady did EVERYTHING right. She was paying attention to her surroundings, she was listening, aware of where they were moving, kept an eye out, continued to listen, walked faster, had her gun loaded and ready while keeping her eyes on them, heard them stumping and knew when to shoot. Now baby girl MOVE tf from there and go to a different state. I really dig this young lady and sense of awareness.

I'm a middle age white man and I say Bravo to that woman who defended herself and her friend. She's sharp as hell for paying attention to her gut and acting on her feeling of unease. I'm glad she came away from this unharmed. She should be applauded as an example for black women and for anyone actually who seeks to defend themselves.
