Jay Morrison was once a trusted financial investor in Atlanta, but now he’s under fire and being accused of scamming thousands of investors out of their hard-earned money. Morrison got 15,000 people to invest in a real estate fund called the Tulsa Real Estate Fund in honor of what was known as the black wall street in Tulsa, OK, in the early 1900s. The fund was supposed to be an opportunity for people to crowdfund with others to invest and own real estate. In total, $11.7 million was raised, but now investors are coming forward and claiming Morrison is misappropriating funds. Morrison claims no fraud or scamming was involved, yet people are still calling for the SEC to investigate. Could there be a simple explanation for it all? The Shade Room investigates…
TSR Investigates explores cold cases and special interest news stories underrepresented in mainstream media.

@hakshustletv
@hakshustletv Ай бұрын
@@kgkg4118 You're absolutely right, but it's crucial to differentiate between spending and investing. Investing is about risk vs reward, risk management, and having a clear exit plan if it goes right or wrong. The way to give yourself the best chance is through thorough due diligence. Once you hear/think investing, the mindset of spending should go out of the window. These guys clearly lack an understanding of investing, and Jay knew it & capitalized on that. He knew they were desperate, knowing that the easiest thing to sell to desperate people is hope. Like many of these so-called "gurus," he exploited people seeking hope for his own come up.

But we still got 15,000 ppl giving 500$-40k each for this ded in the water idea this looney MF pitched. As long as ppl still think that in today's technology and today's world, there is still a place for them to have a city for all people of 1 ethnicity, demonstrates how behind their thinking is surrounding technology. There is no place on earth at this point where one can buy or build any city for any reasonable amount where blk people will own and control it ALL. ITS A PIPE DREAM. Dear Jay: Just apologize. It happens. Simply admit you made mistakes. Dear People: Welcome to the world of investing. Right now, your feelings are hurt. But you can not mix emotions and feelings with money.You have to do your research, invest what you can afford to lose, and invest in what you understand. If Mr. Morrison did anything illegal it will come to light. If he didn't, then you must move on and learn from this experience, but don't use this as a reason to never invest again.

You are right, but just not in the way you think, yes this is why black can't come together , because people don't have patience , and as market and law change, they make it hard for black geniuses like that through zoning laws and other schemes to keep him down, so the people always wanna know where is the money and not focusing on the hard work amd time it takes to accomplish such goals, it's different battles going on against the powers that be that every common person not equipped to battle so instead of helping they turn their back on the one who is doing the fighting so they leave himself while asking about money SMH and make things worst, and you notice it's always corporate backed media that celebrate and blast the downfall, wake up people he's doing business the way that business is supposed to be done, so yes it do be your own people , that turn on you , but nobody up in roar about how the government deceive us everyday through tax fraud ,

As Mr. Gordon said in your interview, "everything in the dark will come to light" This is so disturbing, as many people of color seriously need this kind of information to improve themselves with Financial Literacy and Real Estate investments to create family legacies. This project could have been a Very viable avenue towards those two goals for the people of color. This Morrison character and his wife need to face immediate jail time and they must refund all the investors. If you cannot trust your own people of color, WHO can you trust. We have heard so many unfortunate stories such as this; so many crooks who call themselves "pastors" that run away with people's hard earned money. The excuses of theft need to stop. What kind of business person is driving such expensive clothing, jewelry, cars, buying land with hidden companies during the real estate boom period and touts that "he lost money"? Thus, those who are honest and do try to create such a program will be looked at twice. Hope all the investors recoup their monetary investments and not give up their dream.
