First one eh. I have been reverse watching your videos lately, newest to oldest. You started out with the typical, "I guess I need to demonstrate my bushcraft skills so they'll be interested', type of video. Now, you've come to realize that, you need to like what you're doing. If anyone needs to learn skills, they need to do it on their own. The plan to all these skills is to get out there and enjoy the earth and respect all it has. You've come along a good way. Keep going. Your skills are good. You're not a clown. But you are silly, Swagman. 😉

Mattsy your cooking skills need some work mate ,I learned how to camp cook when I was about 9 years old camping ,fishing and rabbiting with my mates ,the main thing to good bush cooking is controlling the heat if your cooking over the coals if I lived 800ks or so closer to you I would be happy to teach you .Keep up the great vids mate they are very entertaining.

Campfire smoke follows you because the hot air rises above the fire sucking cooler air towards it. Although your body blocks the cool air from the fire. This lowers air pressure near you and the smoke drifts towards the low pressure and you

New subscriber here and loving your videos so far. Your trips remind me of my own, there’s always a lot of laughing on our overnight hikes and there’s always something that doesn’t quite go to plan. We were out last weekend and a bloody rat chewed through my Mum’s pack and ate her beef jerky….. she was not impressed in the morning haha. Thanks for the laughs and keeping it real!

@@TheSillySwagman haha there certainly is! Those uncut moments are often the memorable ones. My poor Mum indeed, we had wild pigs around too snorting and grunting all night so she didn’t sleep too well 😅 She’s used to the luxuries of her caravan so I’m always proud when she makes it out with us though. If you’re ever in QLD around the Sunshine Coast hinterland/Conondale regions just keep an eye out for those damn rats and pigs 😅

Great episode. Really enjoying your videos. When the title said "cooking fail" and then I saw you using the aluminium can to cook on.... I thought "there's the fail, it will be too hot and the aluminium will melt and you'll have a cheesy beer can mess" 🤣

Firstly, great first upload - you got a good camera presence and eye for a good shot. keep it up. but mate, the haloumi gods will not be pleased - ALWAYS cook haloumi in oil, ALWAYS. if youve seen my vids, you know i love my haloumi well done, but dude, that sh1t was charcoal hahah. and the bush doofs - you know youre in the Watagans coz of those bloody bush doofs. anyway again, great first vid, good luck with the channel mate

Hey Craig, haha thanks for the feedback, mate. I appreciate it! I do know this, but the haloumi was a last resort and I didn’t fancy buying a whole bottle of oil with nothing to hold a bit in for the trip 😂 I’ll check out your channel tonight, mate. Not wrong about the doofs, and the bikes, and everyone else out there.

Thanks a lot mate. I appreciate the feedback and the follow!👍👍 I’m just using a Canon 200D and switching between a wide angle lens for in camp/demo/blog style shots and a 50mm prime lens which is designed for mostly portrait work but I find it gives a really nice crisp image for the close ups, or if you can get it far away enough, the larger location shots. 👌

All good! It’s at the lower end of the price scale as a very entry level camera. But I’ve taken some awesome photos with it. It comes down to your lens.
