FYI for canning - you actually do have ingredients for it. If you look again you have 1/1 tomatoes. What I've found in my game is for some reason with the combo of simple living and off the grid, you have to click on the stove to access some cooking and canning options

Can you put the spare horsebed under Baatuu and Horse's cover thing. I've seen them sleeping on it before and it would be nice for them to have a proper bed.

If no one said it yet - the option to stop using power for fridges and stuff only appear when you have a surplus of power. So keep/sell all your appliances and wait until you generate a power surplus, then put the fridge down and the option should appear. Took me a while to look up the solution in my own game, cause otherwise off the grid is literally unplayable, so hopefully it helps :)

If you're friends with the Mysterious Rancher, you can ask him for his family recipe and then also ask him for ingredients. You can ask him for ingredients every few days, I think. He'll either give you a death flower or spinach if he already gave you a death flower.

There's a chance that your first few times of crafting the toilet and tub will be the crappy ones. Kinda like the stools and instruments.

If you shrink down the horse water trough and place it in the pond they’ll ‘drink’ from the pond when you click where you placed it and choose drink.

The toilet and the bathtub you were saying you wanted are the “poor quality” versions of the craftables I believe. So if you craft the toilet and tub with some bad moodlets you might get the ones you want

I think it's reasonable for them to have a lot more functionality for mailboxes on off-the-grid homes. Like Lady should be able to mail out a listing for a Ranch Hand or post her own job to the community board.

Try the counting sheep interaction with the minisheep. It's useful.

Desert foxes absolutely exist, they'd probably be more dusty brown and not bright orange like sims4 foxes but they definitely exist

I wish the awards said which horse it was instead of just 1st place in the cow patty contest. If the game thinks that part of the cellar is outside for the lighting, will it think it is outside and age nectar slower?

You need to put the fruits and vegetables that you’re not using for nectar making in your frig to cook and can.

Considering how you put the toilet outside, there's really no reason for you to have a sink in the bathroom as well. I would probably remove it, and considering making the bathroom smaller. Also, I would probably place the woodworking table on the porch instead of the cooler 😅

The toilet you want is a “fail” - if you try to make the toilet as soon as you can, and you are in a bad mood, there is a chance your sim can “fail” and make a worse quality item. The worse tub is the same, it’s a “fail” state so there is a chance to make it instead of the nice one. The weird string on stick guitar is the same.

I would recommend deleting the radio on your coffee table, because if I remember correctly, it's not off-the-grid and it will take your electricity. Also, I know you can get ingredients from mysterious rancher, but I can't ever find the interaction, so if you could try next time, that would be grand!

They do have a matching fence for the gate! Deligracy found it in her lets play, the fence doesn't come in a green swatch though, that may be why its harder for you to find.

Few thoughts: 1 - Pretty sure that recycler uses energy, Ravasheen has alternate eco objects I'd recommend to fit these vibes 2 - The handmade looking plumbing toilet/bath are what you make if you "fail" at making the polished ones (bad moodlets) 3 - LittleMsSam has a new mod for harvesting prairie grass that limits it to realistic objects (manure, bugs, etc) 4 - given these off the grid vibes Lady should take up knitting with the sheep wool when you're ready for her to have a makeover 5 - Jungle adventure selling table to sell your excess nectar via yardsale might be fun

I think it would be a good idea to try and buy the Bigwallet Emporium to sell the nectar. This would make it more difficult than just selling it normally, so you would get rich as easily.

Everytime I go to yoga class, I go for a brisk walk in the park afterwards. Then I come home, curl up on the couch with my goldendoodle, and we watch rags to ranches together.

James, the description of a lantern when you said it wasn't IS a lantern. They either come with candles or lightbulbs. At least all of the other lanterns I've seen.

Re: the horse going through the gate, one of my friends who has horses actually had to change the locking mechanism on her gates because her horse figured out how to open them. She originally had ones where there was a metal tab on either side of the gate and you could just flip one up and open the gate, and the horse figured that out so she had to add a chain loop that went through the gate and clipped onto the actual fence to keep him from getting out and scaring her dogs (and potentially eating her lawn and developing colic). So yeah it kinda makes sense that the horse can get into the chicken coop if Lady doesn't have a horse-proof gate lock.
