To me the problem isn't that it's necessarily an ugly car, it's just completely unrecognizable as a BMW. You could slap any other badge on there and it wouldn't look out of place. It's just so generic and isn't at all what you'd expect or want from a brand like BMW.

I liked your redesign of the new 3-Series but this really doesn’t improve it. The headlights are still positioned too high up which makes it look like a Kia, and the M2 bumper you put on doesn’t integrate nicely into the design. Its not really your fault to be fair but I still think this could’ve been done better; at least from the front.

This new Ford Fiesta they made looks great. 🤢 All I can see when I look at the front, just needs a subtle grille shape change and a ford badge.

It’s a Mk 4 Ford Focus with a slightly kidney-ised front grill. Well done BMW, you’ve made a discontinued Ford.

I like the rear end, but i think the front end still looks very bad, the problem is the shape of it, it's kinda like a focus, but unlike the focus, it's badly framed, i think you should've gone all out in sharpening the front end, only the lower part being sharp and defined kinda broke the whole thing for me, but the rear looks good, congrats

I think the combined diagonal and vertical lines in the graphics of the grille make for a strong new key design element - already liked it in BMW´s Circular Concept

You should start from the standard model. It has much more traditional BMW bumper.

the redesign you made is very cool, also i'd keep the rear vents on the side and change the shape of the front light to something more like the pre facelift or something a bit more rectangular

The rear redesign is great ! The original front doesn’t look too bad imo but I think bmw has trouble making a fwd compact car look good. The mazda 3 for example is fwd but looks like a rwd car.

The rear redesign was good, even though it's missing the reflectors so it wouldn't be road legal, but the front redesign is horrible. That M2 Comp looks phenomenal on the M2 Comp, but looks like a cheap aftermarket bumper on this one imo

I also watched the video on your second channel where you talk about the design and features of the car. Then I came here to watch the redesign and being now quite in the middle of the video, I have to say that I really don‘t like to hear you talk about the features and buttons and screens again while watching you redesign. You made a whole separate video for that. So here I would really prefer you commenting on why you do the design changes you do, instead of hearing the specs and techs Again. Other than that, it‘s unbelievable to me why the original looks so much like a Ford Fiesta in the front and I feel like your redesign doesn‘t solve the front’s biggest problems. You worked mostly on the lower part when I would have liked to see the upper part changed, which needed it much more imo.

The only thing i don’t like about you’re redesign is the change of the front bumper, it looks quite good as it is. I think the bigger problem of this car were the headlights and kidneys grille, and the rear bumper.

@thesketchmonkey will you please redo the Fiero redesign, but this time keep the C8 Corvette in mind with it.

The new 2 series looks very East Asian but in my opinion it's a whole lot better than the previous gen with its bugeye headlamps.

Headlights need to be lowered to be inline with the kidneys and do not point upwards and go so back into the body. Slats on the kidneys have to be vertical not horizontal. Hood line needs to be just at the kidneys, not in the middle of nowhere.

i think added the M2 bumper was a mistake. BMW clearly is trying to look futuristic and less sporty. Instead of just wishing for an old bimmer back, you should prove that you can get a new looking car with BMW looking features.

Why does BMW shorten the bonnet, creating a body seam across the front. Some of their cars have hoods that go all the way to the kidney grill and others don’t, like this one. Is this a cost cutting design decision?

Adding m sport front bumper, quad tail pipes and bigger alloys is not a redesign. You're mostly changing the spec. Keep the spec the same and actually redesign the car without reverting to tired, obvious design tropes

Nothing changed man. It is not the bumpers problem. Designers should have continued by modernizing the design language of the F20 body. BMW enthusiasts don't want designs that look like a Kia knockoff.

Why do they keep screwing around with the headlights? The halo rings, even the hex-shaped ones, were BMW-iconic. Now they're going with goofy designs that look like any garden-variety Kia or Mazda and keep changing them. This thing looks like a Mazda to me, over-stuffed with BMW tech garbage and a BMW price tag. No thanks.
