Thanks to Matt from Double Duty Diesel for being very helpful throughout the build and helping out with the Turbo

Excellent attitude about this. Mistakes like this keep you humble. Many years ago I had the front end of my '03 Mach 1 repaired after hitting a deer. Cobra bumper swap and all that good stuff. Looked great. 1 week later, I had a moment of weakness (more and more rare as I've gotten older), was on a back road by myself, thought I'd try to feel cool powering out of a very low speed tight corner, back end came out, tank slapped back and forth, was on brakes but still had just enough momentum in it for me to gently roll into a grass embankment. Screwed the front end up a bit. I ended up repainting/repairing the bumper myself, was okay but shit compared to professional job but.. oh well. I felt I didn't deserve a nice, shiny bumper after that. Spent years having to look at it every time I got in the car. Or people asking why the front bumper looked like crap. That was my punishment. Lesson learned.

Fair play for stepping up and owning it Alan. Much respect for the proper attitude. Good luck with getting it sorted and cheers to Matt for helping you out on a fix up. Onwards and upwards fellas...!

It sucks to have something like that happen but it happens anyway. If it’s built it can be unbuilt, sometimes violently. I’d be interested to see where the rest of the turbo ended up! Props to you for figuring out the issue and making it the moral of the story. Love you guys!

Bit of an Oof moment, but I'm glad you've used this as a teaching moment for all the embarrassed lads who fucked up and didn't want to admit an oopsie

I always like your vids guys, but I loved this one. I love how you shouted out how important accountability is when working on cars with your mates. Top effort and I really enjoyed how candid you were about admitting fault. Cheers lads!

Thank you for making this video guys. I have watched your videos from day one and your content is second to none. I think it's really important that you have shown that even people at the top of their game, with decades of experience can make a mistake, and that while it's annoying at the time, every mistake someone makes is just more experience gained. Keep at it guys.

This is my favourite episode of TSF ever… not because of your misfortune but because of your humility, takes a good bunch of people to teach people it’s alright to fall over and that shit happens sometimes and that it’s sweet to keep your chin up despite being disappointed in yourself . A lot of people out there could use a bit of this advice. Keep up the great work 👍

We all make mistakes. I work for a very large Caterpillar dealer, and in that time, I have built many, many powershift transmissions. One day, I was installing some planetary gears into a carrier. There are roll pins that secure the planetary pins into the carrier. On this day, I didn't install those roll pins properly. $50,000 in warranty later, I was owning my mistakes. The biggest take away from it all, I have never made that mistake again! 😂

Maybe Al should try talking to the snap ring the same way he talks to the GoPro. "Snap Ring, seat properly!" GL on the rebuild.
