I visited Haddon with my college class many years ago and it still stands out as one of my favorite places, there is an air of real magic all around when you visit, and also a legend that if you walk backward down a certain set of stairs that you will dream of your future spouse that night! I still remember that I did in fact dream of a tall, dark, and handsome man and how he looks, though sadly I have never met anyone quite like him, not yet anyway! It's even more special at Christmas, thanks for sharing.

I don’t know if anywhere will ever steal its crown as far as I’m concerned 🥰 even after visiting it multiple times a year for more years than I can remember, it still hasn’t lost its magic on me 😍 I can’t fault you!! I’ve always wanted a house like this too.. I think I’ll have to keep on dreaming unfortunately 😅 however, it is still a family home surprisingly! (Unfortunately not mine lol). This was so beautiful. The worn steps, ancient walls and doors are such a touching backdrop to the splendid Christmas decorations. How I would love a glimpse into the lives lived in Haddon Hall in past centuries. While watching your magical video it seemed almost possible.

I agree with you on being your favorite medieval house, I have not been in many, but have seen plenty of photos and this one is so elegantly dressed up in a non-glitzy fashion. What amazing views inside Haddon Hall! I've seen images of the grounds, the exterior, and some of the interior, but these views in your tour are so immediate! I'm especially excited about this place because I'm directly related to the Vernon family and have been able to trace way back, and only recently discovered that they lived there for generations. When I first saw photos of this place I was immediately mesmerized, and sometime later discovered that my relatives lived here for generations. While I've been to the UK a few times, I wasn't aware of this connection, so never visited there, but will be sure to when I can travel there again. Thanks so much for this lovely tour, which really stokes my desire to visit there someday. Your videos are wonderful, thanks for doing them., Here's wishing you and yours Happy Holidays. 💜

Just found your channe and subscribed...l and was delighted to see one of my old haunts looking even more stunning with all the decorations. They never used to open in winter in those days, so I'd never seen the place in winter. I remember watching mediaeval combat demonstrations in the courtyard, and admiring wonderful cherry trees in the gardens which sadly seem to be no longer there. So nice that you managed to avoid people in the shots, which made it feel like I had the place to myself. I really want to get back in person! Happy new year!

My camera for photography is a Nikon D750 with either a 24-70mm, 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 lens most often used. For KZfaq I’ve tried filming on this camera and it’s just not really suitable in my opinion - fantastic for photos!! But suitable for video. So I’ve been using GoPro and IPhone for filming all these videos over the last year. I want to get a dedicated vlogging style camera next year though which will be a Sony. Have a wonderful Christmas 🎄✨

Thanks for letting me know, I’ll have to have a look at that! @@theslowtravelsfamily I appreciate it! I'm actually a photo/video guy, so I'm always interested to see what people shoot with. Your photos are great! I love the medieval subject matter and wish that stuff was closer to where I live! If I can make a suggestion, the new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 looks legit! It's a tiny gimbal camera with a great 1" sensor, coming with a selfie mode and mic. No lens flaring like iPhones and good low light! Also has subject tracking. The first video tour I ever saw of Haddon Hall was given by one of the family members. He spoke about running up and down that long gallery as a child. It is a splendid and amazing place, and you are fortunate to be able to visit more than once in a lifetime, much less more than once in a year. The holiday decor is so tasteful and charming. Here in America everything has to be big (the Biltmore mansion in South Carolina comes to mind...it is stunning and famous for it's holiday decorations), but nothing can replace centuries of history. You have such a great eye for gardens and historic homes. Always enjoy your content. Happy Christmas and I'll look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
