Drum roll please the moment you’ve all been waiting for…the full reveal of my moody living room makeover! If you saw last weeks episode you’ll have seen how basic this room was before. My goal was to turn it into the ultimate cozy movie and gaming room. I did this by painting both the walls AND the ceiling dark green, adding the latest and greatest tech from Best Buy Canada and styling this space to fit the moody vibe. Enjoy!

We need to give 👏🏿 Rochelle 👏🏿 her 👏🏿 flowers 👏🏿! I’ve never seen woodworking as amazing as this! The kerf cuts on that walnut…Spectacular🎉!!! When I initially saw what they were trying to achieve, my brain was like “I have no idea how they’re going to round those corners”. So impressed with this piece! Great job ladies!

I know you said mot to address it but I have an idea for the paper pendant: what if you lowered the strip slightly (or raise the paper shell, whatever is easier) so the strip is centered in the pendant? That way the top and bottom would fade away evenly and it would look purposeful. P.S. Rochelle?!? That cabinet is amazing!!!

I think I would remove the bottom shade on the pendant - it looks too much like barbells. More visual interest with the three shades and you solve the strip lighting problem.

@@katherinewill2704 i actually was just about to comment that- i think removing the bottom one will also elongate the hanging pendant and make that corner look taller as well- instead of stopping your eyes at the couch! i feel bad saying something lmao because she said not too, but i love paper lamps and they’re such a statement for ambience- i do kind of like it in the thumbnail of the video tho 😅

This room turned out so great . . . Except for the paper lantern pendant light. I just feel like it looks too much like a beginner DIY project while the rest of the room is so elevated. (Not just referring to the mix-up with the strip light. The balance of the lanterns themselves is off.) You definitely have the skills and experience to make a much higher quality version of it, and I think that you should take the time to do so if you get the chance.

I can't help but think that if she had learned math in a relevant way, e.g., through woodworking, she would be great at math. I didn't like math until it became something relevant to what I wanted to do and I ended up being a math and numbers person as my career.

Not the best order to connect those shades in, in my opinion. I would have split the column-style ones and connected the spheres together with the columns one on each end, or just used one column with the two spheres below it, or something. Something different than how it is...

This video was interesting.. The curtains needing to be the exact same color of the wall & almost painting it white. The random lantern & lamp didnt go, the pink coffe table, that huge painting, cutting that gorgeous bird art.. I was confused the entire time hoping it would come together. I think that the space looks so great, but you should definitely add your throw blankets and pillows from before, I think they would help tie in the quart’s coffee table, plus make the space nice and cozy.

Rochelle really comes through and adds so much value and quality to the things she builds. That said, I'm not sold on this room? I'm so glad you and your partner like it, but the styles just seem like they haven't gelled, especially with such a bold, moody choice. The paper lantern and the 1980s pink smoked coffee table and that white shelf and the 2020s sofa....at any rate, it's definitely a color that works if you want to spend a lot of time on video games, which seems like the point of it all. I am very envious of that console, though!

I had the same reaction -- there are things I like in the room, but overall, it doesn't work for me. But since it works for them, that's what matters. (Also, the whole paint-everything-in-the-room-the-same-color is very trendy now but within a couple of years, all those DIYers will be repainting the rooms to join some other trend).

Would have looked world's better to have split the two columns, and connected the spheres and put a column above and below the double spheres. And then have the sphere's lit up with the light softening into the columns on each side of the spheres.

The room turned out beautiful! Good call with the walls and curtains. Rochelle’s cabinet is perfect!!! The only miss for me is the paper lantern. Not even bc it’s not lit properly, mostly because it looks cheap and like a beginner diy. It really throws off the room since everything else is so elevated.

You can now use the other curtains you had made in a different room.... So I don't know, might we have another makeover coming soon??? This room is gorgeous, I'm glad Elliot loved and wanted to keep the green.
