fact bro. And real talk, the websites i but most my frames that they ship from China, only 1 out of 5 are adjusted correctly. So 4 frames each all seriously feel like the Chinese workers individually adjust frame to there head. So since each frame is built or finished off by different worker, they last guys who adjust them all adjust to there head specifically. Because all 4 all have completely separate and different problems. One pair left temple arm makes left lense to low. One frame right temple arm makes right lens to high. One frame the horizontal level on face is off. And broooo, its pure insanity. And i have literally thrown away 2 or 3 brand new sunglasses all because i tried to adjust with all the proper tools and still could not get frame corrected. And end up grabbing the frames and just bend it in half from the nose bridge and throw in the trash. These videos help, but sometimes i think its multiple issues causing problem. But i wish like these youtube channel think about starting a master class online dating to teach this stuff. Like you have to buy the tool kit from them or if they have already, but to start class u need the exact specific tools and equipment. Then bring your own specific frames you own that have problems and live stream or web cam like meeting with all students and at end of lesson each student has webcam on them and teacher and walk u thru how to fix it. I mean seriously, this is a area that i dont thini anyone has done yet. But if t would help the whole sunglass industry as a whole, because to be honest, im almost at the point i wont ever buy sunglasses again . But if each and every customer could adjust themselves properly and knew what to do, then they would buy more frames because they know, that even if they came adjusted wrong, they could fix instantly and be happy and never have to worry about if frames come messed up or not, u eliminate the problem altogether of worrying about not being able to fix frames oneself. ✌️

Love love love this video. If I could like it a million times I would. Some many factors go into play when having your glasses adjusted by an optician vs doing it yourself: time/business hours and travel; depending on the situation if they break/damage your glasses in anyway they may not be liable. And we all know over time under certain conditions, our glasses need Minor adjustments again. When I worked in the OR a lot under those surgical lights my glasses needed adjustments roughly 4 times a year; they're acrylic acetate with one lens being single vision and the other lens being progressive and I needed to be able to see fine details which is why I got them readjusted as soon as they started to shift. But I also used to work down the street from them. I don't anymore. Even still sometimes all you need is a quick adjustment but everyone's already helping a customer so you could be waiting a while. Greatly appreciative of this video and love your accent.

I wish there were a shop like this in America. As big as we are, I haven't found a competent optician since I was a child, and sadly he was in his late 80s then and passed away long ago. Ever since then I have to teach them how to adjust the glasses, or just do it myself at home, but it's not the same trying to do your own as somebody who can look at the sides of your head.

This is the information I needed: I bought some Titanium Alloy prescription glasses in Shenzhen, they were only about $ 30 total and overall I was satisfied. Only the optic shop in China, forgot to do an adjustment behind the ears. Because I'm in the autistic spectrum, I kept adjusting the ears. When I thought it was fine? Then I adjusted it again.... I almost came to the conclusion: these Chinese frames must be to small, for my face? But then I hear you saying, about finding the point where the glasses meet the highest point of my ears? Well I already knew how to bend them, and surprisingly they haven't broken yet. So I bent it back straighter. After which I made the curve, precisely at the point where you suggested.

very informative video. Loved it ! I jet received to pairs of Gucci plastic frames with Rx lenses and they hurt the bridge of my nose. From the video, I believed you said to bend the stems downward to lift the frames higher. Would that relieve the pressure on the bridge of my nose ? I don't have a machine to heat the frames. Please advise.

One legit question that i never seen a video showing how to fix or explain it. What if those plastic frames like in the video has perfect levelness but the arms , on one is sitting higher a little bit above one ear. Is there a way to fix that or it is something that should not matter because ears are not level for most people? But if theres a way to fix this and keep level glasses horizontal to face, what is the trick to do that. Because to me, i dont want to mess with it now, for fear of ruining horizontal position

I mainly were metal frame glasses with 135mm arms, most glasses I see on sale these days are 140mm or 145mm arms, in the past when I have bought 140mm arm glasses the optician has removed the temple tips chopped a bit off the arm and replaced the tip, something I am finding opticians no longer do , so am now finding it hard to find glasses that fit comfortably

I just found your channel so I’ve only had a chance to watch one video. In the past six years I’ve had three different frames. Metal, titanium and acetate. The titanium frames broke in half at the nose piece. On the metal and acetate frames they squeeze my head on the side right in front of my ear. I’ve had them adjusted many times. I don’t think anybody knows what they’re doing. I honestly don’t know if the frames are too small for my head or not. Nobody will give me a straight answer. I go in with dents on the side of my head and a headache and all they ever say is those frames look so good on you ugh
@johndoe3485
@johndoe3485 Ай бұрын
5:07 My question is, so i have acetate frame that is not thick. But assume i can do same ways as in video. So my new frame one lens is slightly higher and the opposite side lens is lower just slightly, but u can feel and see its a problem. So my question is, in this situation, is there a overall better option to try first? Meaning is it better to try to make lower side higher by adjusting that side or if you adjust higher side lower would it be better if you had to choose one over the other? Or doing either way makes no difference and there is no adjustment better then the other out those two.

Hi Robert! Big fan of the channel. I’ve been watching the videos the last month or two and it’s started a very expensive rabbit hole in investing in good quality eyeglasses! Haha. I recently flew out to purchase a pair of Reykjavik Eyes frames (since they were one of the only few available optical shops in the Philippines that stocked them) and I got the Heimdall in the grey frame and blue temples. Really lightweight and comfortable! I was looking at investing in Zeiss Smartlife Digital lenses (since I work on the computer a lot for my day job). Thinking of getting Photofusion X and a Duravision UV flash coating as well so it can double for outdoor conditions and when cycling. Any recommendations on what would pair best with the grey frame and blue temples of the Reykjavik Eyes Heimdall? I’m thinking Photofusion X extra grey and a diamond or sapphire flash coating, but I’m open to suggestions. I’d really appreciate your opinion. Thank you, Robert! I hope to someday visit the UK and visit your store in person and have some glasses made!

My main problem was not addressed and there may not be a solution. I have a very thin bony bridge. Adjustments do not work. Oversized bridge pads do not work. I have sewn soft rubber cups over the pads, but that does not work. It works better than anything else, but still leaves a large red area that aches. Contact lenses are out of the question for me as my eyes are deep set, and I'm 78 years old and do not want the aggravation. So other than some sort of band over my head holding the glasses off my nose, I don't know what to do. Any ideas? Thanks.
