I’m not a mom but I’m so happy y’all are talking about Postpartum Depression & getting rid of the stigma. My best friend’s sister died by suicide due to PPD a couple years ago.. She tried to get help but there was such a stigma at the time, so thank you so much for talking about it. 💛

I love the vibe of this episode. Friends turned to family, honest thoughts, dogs in the bottom of the frame. It feels so relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable.

I"m single, not a parent, not been around many babies or kids, don't have a sister, and not particularly close to my brother or sister-in-law. So, I will say that I learned many things from your conversation, and accept what you say as genuine to your life experiences. All I can say is that this was very fun, a lot of shared laughs, and Remmi was having a blast "video-bombing" with his toys! Thanks to everyone! 💛

lol, this one started a little slow but, these four get along so well. Makena doesn’t hold back on her brother which is hilarious. Jake seems like a great guy.

No, Makena does not hold back on her brother at all. I love that they have the same dynamic is my sisters and I do. I am closer to my older sister Francie yet the 3 of us have this dynamic that makes people laugh when they hear us. I have always been the one who is not afraid to say anything at all. My sister Francie has gotten more verbal due to her job as a Surgical Tech and dealing with doctors all day. My sister Elizabeth is the more sensitive person and we are not that close at all.

So sad to think about McKenna not getting the help she needs. Happy she got into therapy!! I am grateful for my doctor with my first at my 6 weeks apt that was main conversation was ppd. As a mom of 3 with many other moms in my life, I have personally noticed that female OBGYNS are more likely to bring up PPD and are more willing to help the mother because many have been through it themselves and know how it feels. That is the one of the many reasons when I choose an OB I look for female first if at all possible Great interview! It was so great seeing your 4 relationship as siblings

A snow storm has trapped me at home and I have been so stressed out. It has felt like my COVID days. I guess I never realized how much that impacted me. I have watched like 9 of your videos and it has helped relieve my stress. I also think that I want to go to therapy. I had been considering it and you made it not seem scary anymore. I honestly would watch you even if you were not already famous. You are such kind people and are spreading awareness about so many topics.

We do the Edinburgh depression screen on all of our postpartum moms before discharge. The number indicates risk. If higher risk, we set the patient up with social work and may do an earlier postpartum visit with mom. Then patient re-fill out that screening at their visit(s).

First off, being the baby sibling, I saw both of my older sisters go through PPD. It affected both of them differently, and the fact that we as a family know that we have the chemical imbalance that can send us into depression. My sisters and I are extremely aware of our triggers when it comes to depression. Like y'all have said "it's the tools that we have learned when it comes to therapy. I have learned the degrees of just how much I can take as a person both mentally and physically with the tools that I have learned. I would have to say that I so understand what Makena was talking about when it comes to boy Tay because that's kinda been my way of thinking, " How would people react to me if they knew that I was friends with these famous people. I think for me it was the fact that we was all so young at the time that we started becoming friends and I was still processing it all too. Friendships are very unique and special due to the people in them. The one thing that has stuck with me it what James and Olive Phelps has said when they change their podcast to "Normal, Not Normal"...everyone's normal is different and unique. I mean my summers was vacationing in California where my grandpa Holden, John, worked for GTE and knew everyone from the famous people to the non-famous people. My Aunt Janet was a camera operator in Hollywood. In away, I kinda understand the whole concept of it all but I was also raised that it's what is inside a person's heart that matters most. That's what I have always done when it comes to people is look at their personality and what they have one the inside because at the end of the day that's what truly matters when it comes to people. Honestly, I love the banter that Makena and boy Tay has. Forever the little sister teasing the big brother 😉. Love you all so very much.

My sister isn’t a movie star but she did start a very popular club at our small and pretty new HS so I too dealt with being known as her younger sister which made it very hard for me to find my space. She and I are 3-3.5yr apart so we overlapped for her senior my freshman year. I had students call me [her name]’s little sister in lieu of my name. Not to mention teachers mistakenly calling me by her name and/or using her work as examples of various projects. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have the whole world know my sibling’s name.

A small housekeeping thing - I have an issue with the sound being inconsistent and am often raising/lowering my volume during an episode. For example in this episode I had a hard time hearing Jacob, and the 1st ad was a lot more quiet than the main part of the episode. I imagine headphones might help with this however I don't use them. Any other suggestions?

My ppd and ppa always hits month 3 very hard and at that point the obgyn won’t even see you for it and my regular doctor isn’t knowledgeable about it. It’s sad. It’s sad when I have to be my own advocate now after having 4 babies.

Like like like like. Taylor really needs to learn to communicate without 75 likes in five sentences. It’s annoying and sounds super uneducated. If you are trying to look good on a podcast - she needs to learn to speak more eloquently.
