@@TheStoryTillNow Agreed - it will be interesting to see what you think once it's lifted. This is just the known pains of being an early adopter of a new platform that has to wait on 3rd manufacturers to catch up and, in this current age, you're also stuck with limited availability of what has been manufactured. Hell, I can't believe you even managed to get the Bronco itself.

Too bad to hear about the fallout from the branches. I don't blame others for setting their priorities different, and more power to them! As for me: My jeep had less than 3000mi on the odometer when I took it through some backcountry for the first trip and gouged the heck out of it! It's still less than 20k, on the original tires and will probably need paint before too long if I keep using it like a Jeep!

There are weak points. Lord knows the Jeep has had a few in it's lifetime. There will be many, many mods and upgrades for this like there are for all other off road vehicles soon. Most vehicles that actually off road are modded, many dramatically. It was true on my old Tacoma, 4Runner and Fj Cruiser. It is true for most jeeps. It will be true for the Bronco. First on my wish list are aftermarket steering box and tie rods. Then a lift kit that also drops the front diff so the CV's don't overextend. I dream and my pocketbook fears.

factory skids on SUV's almost always leave gaping holes between cross members, leaving the cross members to act like anchors on these sorts of obstacles. More clearance would help, but so would a better skid plate design. I bolted 1/4" plate to the bottom of my H3. Picks up from behind the factory front skids and goes all the way back to the rear-most cross member before the rear driveshaft dips down and it transitions to the gas tank skid. No more big holes between cross members to get anchored on. Where it used to hang up on obstacles like this, it will usually drag itself through now.

@gregsheridan
@gregsheridan 2 жыл бұрын
@@vitaminb4869 tire pressure isn’t one size fits all. I didn’t say go to 35psi. I won’t argue that too many people run too much pressure or just don’t bother to air down but being at a very low presure, when you don’t have to be just costs ground clearance and more chance of a sidewall cut or fatigue damage from heat on longer high speed runs.

I’m now a retired Federal Land Manager, a Department of Interior USFish & Wildlife law enforcement officer……I am now on the eastern seaboard managing coastal islands, shores, and saltwater species….I grew up in New Mexico where I also worked for the USDA and National Forest Service. While I applaud your adventuresome spirit, I have to question your decision to take a vehicle not equipped for the habitat that you are “invading” and whether you realize it or not, impacting. While legal, or I am sure you wouldn’t be broadcasting this, but that is typical riparian-salt cedar habitat, valuable to desert species. EVERYTIME you are rutting the road, digging in, you impact…..likely negatively so. Yep…..I assume that you’ll come back with “I’m an American taxpayer, I should be allowed to do what I want on lands I support”. I’ve heard it a thousand times. And philosophically, I’d agree with you…..but paramount is the principal, that you do so responsibly! Please remember that in all your adventures. But….all in all, a beautifully filmed video of Green River and southwestern habitat. My only other criticism is that I wished the video portrayed more in why your new Bronco was not fit for the adventure….that is what you didn’t like.
@TheStoryTillNow
@TheStoryTillNow 2 жыл бұрын
This is a designated 4x4 trail, I’m doing exactly what it is meant for, so I’m sorry but I don’t agree with words like “invading” or “impacting”. We travel responsibly, stay on designated roads, etc. By “making ruts” you’re referring to spinning tires when the vehicle was stuck, that’s not impacting anything. The many rockslides certainly have more impact. The mine that was here certainly had more impact. The building of the road certainly had more impact. Again, designated 4x4 trail. It’s in tourist guide books. Our impact if any is insignificant.

@@TheStoryTillNow Thank you, sir for a well thought out - AND civilized - response. My point is that the Jeeps in your video navigated / progressed without spinning, moving rocks, to enable forward movement, so they were legitimately equipped for the environment…..your Bronco however, was not able to. If the Jeeps indeed, weren’t able to, you didn’t show that. I’m a Jeep Wrangler owner. I’m considering a Bronco, which brought me to your (again, a beautifully filmed) video. My comment was not meant to be derisive, but to simply point out that when in sensitive habitats, and make no mistake about it, salt cedar desert riparian habitat, sir, is indeed biologically sensitive. So it is incumbent on each of us, to venture forth with as little disruption as possible. The Jeeps apparently, were able to, with least impact, and by the evidence in the video, your Bronco did have a greater impact (moving rocks, etc). We can go round and round on this….and probably never agree. In my 30 year career in land management law enforcement, I have dealt with four wheelers on shoreline beaches, in sand dunes, in the Appalachian Mountains, the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Rio Grande river lowlands, the Colorado Rockies, the Sacramento Mountains and Lincoln National Forest of New Mexico…..and my message ALWAYS to off road four wheelers is, like any other recreational user, is welcome….AND if I can’t tell you’ve been there, you’ve been successful of minimal impact. Of course, the area should be open to vehicular access…and you pay taxes, and have the freedom of access, I just point out, please do so responsibly…and work to LNT principles (Leave No Trace). Not once in your video did you mention the sensitivity of that particular environ. And rather than put some future off-roader viewing your video at potential odds with a Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Wildlife Game Warden or Park Ranger Law Enforcement Officer, possibly incurring a fine, I addressed it. Still, your video was beautifully filmed….and my comments are food for thought. Take care, be safe, and enjoy our country’s natural resources and lands….but again, always do so responsibly.

Damn dude, I remember watching you a year or two ago when you had like 15k or 20k subs of something wondering 'WHY the hell doesn't this guy have a ton more subs' - glad to see your channel growing! Def one of the top best-edited jeep/offroad channels out there, if not on all of youtube. Superb, keep it up!

After all that, they were worried about scratches from branches? Hehe. Your editing is superb! Man, I hate those shelf roads. It's like my kryptonite. I can walk and climb high places, but put me in a rig and by brain goes sideways.

Soooo, why exactly do you HATE your Bronco? I didn’t watch the video solely to hear the answer to you your title. But, I feel misled nonetheless. Maybe a title that said, “Why I can’t wait to modify my stock showroom floor Bronco.” Or for that matter, “We almost found the limits of a Sasquatch.” Just keep it real man.

That music was so powerful lol wow!... More of that great super hero music, that you always use... It starts off softly around 1:30, then around 2:20 it gets so powerful and becomes real super hero music, like right out of an epic movie!... You have come such a long way, and your videos are production studio level of quality!... Great work, excellent video (as usual), and cheers from Vancouver!

We drove Hey Joe Canyon in the early 90s in a 1986 Toyota Pickup and a 1992 Nissan Hardbody. Loads of fun but my father damaged his Nissan in one of the tight spots near the Green River.

Great video , I'm not a mechanic or expertise in 4x4 off road driving...but I've looked at your camera angles when y'all go off into the wilderness & your GLADIATOR JEEP 🚙 HUALS BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED FOR THAT TYPE OF DRIVING. Now your new Bronco it's beautiful but maybe more modifications need to be made to get up to your type of off roading. Like I said I'm just sharing my thoughts as always LOVE all your adventurous videos 📹 the fun y'all have & the beautiful scenery footages especially when y'all cook up that great delicious campsite meal cooking food 💯👍💯👍💯👍💯🤗

Say what you want about humvees, but tree branches don't bother me. This kinda stuff on this trail isn't really anything in a humvee. It's no Cadillac, but a piece of equipment for getting through rough stuff all day everyday. These new rigs are so nice. But sheesh 70 grande is alot to scratch up. Hats off to you guys for taking expensive rigs up there.
