We are packing up for our next move which is to downsize to a tiny studio apartment from our 3 bedroom apartment. We've been expanding in our home for the past 2 years and now it's time to take a step back and thoughtfully go through everything we have and ask ourselves if it's something we really want to have in our tiny house. Do we need it? Does it have a function? We have SO much to declutter if we want this move to our new apartment to go smoothly. I hope this is the last full apartment declutter, before we begin that aggressive space specific declutter. Enjoy! And I can't wait to show you the new studio apartment!

Same. Not sure when and how we are moving. One thing I miss about the city are the choices of where to move. Feeling limited but also it will be freeing. Excited and nervous for it all!

Absolutely! Actually I find those emotions are really similar (in my mind anyway). In the past I have found it useful when I have been nervous about something to turn it in to the feeling of nervous excited..... like if I am nervous about doing a big meeting at work, I can sort of trick my head in to being nervous excited. Weird I know!

Throw a bit of hysterical laughter into the mix and you'll be fine! Have you considered getting a reliable sofa bed to use in the new space in place of your bed and sofa? I used one for nearly 2 years between 'big moves' and it was fine....though admittedly I wasn't sharing! 🤔😊

@@SpaceMakerMethod yes it's normal cat behavior, siamese are known to be vocal for example, but any cat can be, especially if the owner is used to "speak" to the cat, mine do that A LOT 🙈

Did something similar (a little more extreme) 5 years ago!! Went from a 3 bedroom apt. to traveling full time for 3 years with one suitcase ✈️ You are going to love having less stuff 😎 I was just uploading my third KZfaq video ever (a clean with me silent vlog) when your video popped up ☺️. I started folding the bags and securing the fold with a flat hair pin. Takes zero space to store and is a several use item 😂. And no plastic!

Yasss did that two 2⃣ and two last year and it is incredible!!! Also, two loads of laundry per season and my clothes are washed! Amazing downsizing. My elderly Mom and I are moving into a studio apartment from a two bedroom two bathroom apartment. It will be sooo much nicer and cleaner. God bless you on your journey! ❤🎉

I've met my moving-soul sister! I've moved 14times in 13 years and can literally pack up my house in a day. I never give away/throw out any moving boxes and live minimalistic. I do, however, have 4 kids, so I think it's safe to say I have a bit more than you. 😂

I feel like you should get a storage unit for the channel stuff, esp if at some point you have to store furniture, I feel like it would really give you back some space for your private stuff. No idea if that's a thing in Korea tho

Yay for your progress! 🎉🎉🎉 These decluttering videos give me LIFE 💖 If your new kitchen is small but still want to bake, I recommend a tiny oven! We never bought a microwave and put a small oven in it's place! It makes like 5-6 cookies at a time... but it's worth it :D. My boss recently told me about a new product that does all 3: microwave, oven, and air fryer- she says it's "life-changing" LOL

I also downsized from a 3 bd to a studio. I did a massive declutter before the move, it took me about 5/6 weeks and listen...🤦😟 I'm still trying to get rid of stuff because now that I'm in the space (it's been 2 years🤣) the items that I have just don't work and I've tried countless ways to make things work in an attempt to not buy anything new...but I can't take it so now I'm getting rid of more stuff. Items I thought were useful and essential seem like total crap and chaos when placed in such a smaller space. I'm an organized person and this is a bit of an annoyance even for me. Do your Tupperware! I really cut back on mine a couple of years ago and every time I open the cupboard it’s sooooooo satisfying! Absolutely worth it! I store mostly with lid on which takes up more space, but makes it very easy to find everything. I also invested in a load of silicon storage bags as I do a lot of batch cooking which I freeze and just need single or double portions (the silicone bags take up less space then boxes). I got rid of a load of containers that I didn’t use often.... I just make do with the ones I have, and honestly it’s way better! Less is more when it comes to storage containers! I don’t think you mentioned in your last video why you are moving? Are you moving to a new area? Sounds exciting!

This is very interesting. I always wonder what the people do with the things that they've decluttered (they like to leave that part out of the video). But I like that you mentioned where the things are going. Though 2 people and a cat in a studio of that size will be tough for sure. Good luck with the declutter!

Gonna have to do this... we have been but there is stuff in storage. We put whole potatoes in airfryer. It is so convenient like a rice cooker. Must haves in my book. LOL The glass bottles.. make body or facial oils? I have some bottles and that is how I reuse them.

I really enjoy your videos, your way of thinking about interior design is close to mine and I like a lot, that you are so real! I just move wirh my husband and two boys to the smaller space , 90 to 70 square meters (sorry for 'square meters' but that is what I am familiar with) and my way of declutering was very similar to yours. I also decided to give me enought time to downsizing and to make this process less stressful. At the beginning it works good but 3 weeks bevor moving I was really tired of packing and very unhappy with the results. I was not really eable to be sure, what I will need and of course - what will suite in my new apartment (we moved also from a flat to the small house, and we change a country, so it was pretty complex step). The among of boxes was still to big, even thoug I sell or give away A LOT of things. But when we step into our new place, I knew very well, what I do not need anymore! I could easilly get rid of a few other boxes and even furniture without regreting it. So what I want to say, the new place really helped me! My lesson from that is that the process of decluttering ending in the new place and NOT bevor that move take place. I feel like have this vision, moving in wih perfect among of things to the smaller place is also kind of expecting to much from ourselfs and take the spark of joy while decluttering away. We usually just get a toaster oven instead and it works great! I've cooked thanksgiving in a toaster oven 2x now.... tho I would never wish that on anyone. It sucks.

Our last move to this house I had moved from 900 sq ft to 750 and I decluttered 1/3 before the move and it wasn’t enough. We will be moving out in March, probably to 1 room or a 1 bed, so now I’m decluttering and aiming for 3/4 gone. It’s really hard though 😊

I always list things on Facebook marketplace. Free things always go I think sometimes people just see the word free and are more eager than ever. I only sell things that my parents insist on and or actual valuable items but it's a lot more hassle.

Put a few sprigs in the tiny bottles, or put a couple incense sticks in them to burn! Of find a couple bamboo sticks and put some oil with some essential oils in them (make your own oil diffuser).

Someone in the comments said you could put your stuff in storage for your work. I think that’s such a good idea, but if you want to save money maybe not, however.... I wonder if you can use some of the stuff for your makeover series? Especially ones that need to be low budget? So if they are in storage eventually they will decrease and you might only need storage for a couple months!

Storage really isn't a thing here... but actually I've been trying to use up all the homegoods stuff anyways and it will be gone by the move and the rest I'd rather not save. I found out quick that with commuting across Seoul all the time it just wasn't practical to bring stuff with me. It hurts my back😂- better to just have them get what they need.

I just bought a new house that is 1200 sq feet. Sounds like a lot of space but we are downsizing from 2800sq feet. So I feel your pain as I am starting the decluttering process. I’m concentrating on what we want to keep because everything else has to go. I have 6 weeks. 😳

are those nice glass bottles (green, etc) spray bottles? If so, I make linen spray which is witch hazel, distilled water, and lemon and eucalyptus essential oils. Bright and fresh, tell you what.

I also use lavender and tea tree (these are the other 'anti bacterial/anti viral' essential oils). You can use all 4. and sub lemon with lemongrass. options.

Plastic clips solution...I personal view plastic as a blight on the plant, soooo...I have swapped to stainless steel clothes pegs and we use them for everything...clothes, potato crisps, securing plants....whatever!

'Yes' on not using cheap IKEA chip clip. I bought two sets the first time I stepped into an IKEA since I'm a simple dumb person who likes bright colored things. But they don't work. The plastic got bent over time. Better use mason jars. IKEA sells millions of this and yet they won't give you a shopping bag. You have to BUY a plastic blue shopping bag from them. Eyes roll.
