Hello everyone!
Today we are going to be looking at a selection of clay's from the wonderful "Foundinbio". Foundinbio are a small, family business based in Portugal and they are without a doubt my favourite supplier for clay.
If after viewing this video you would like to test Foundinbio's clays for yourself then you can find them here:
www.foundinbio.com
They even offer free shipping to almost anywhere in the world!
I reached out to Alex from Foundinbio a few weeks ago and asked him if he minded if I did a video on his clay's and not only did he agree, but he was also kind enough to gift me their sample pack, which features all 6 of the clay's that they offer in one handy pack. This pack enables you to test all the clay's they offer without the expense of paying for full size packs of each one.
Clays are extremely beneficial for use in soap, they add colour, they have various different skin loving properties and they can even help anchor your scent in soap.
When it comes to colouring soap naturally, there are a wide variety of options, but we love using clay as it really is so easy!
Today we will be testing all 6 of the clay's included in Foundinbio's sample pack, this includes: Dead Sea clay, Green clay, Rhassoul clay, Moroccan Red clay, green clay and white clay! I will be using them in two different ratios. The first will be 1 tsp of clay per pound of oil and the second ratio will be 1 tbsp of clay PPO. This will show you the kind of colour results that you can get just by using different ratios of clay to oil.
The video is quite a long one today! We have tried to condense it as much as possible, but we wanted to make it fairly detailed in order to give you as much information as possible!
If you enjoy our videos and soap making tutorials please do give us a like and subscribe :-) We will be uploading new videos every Friday and possibly the odd midweek bonus video here and there! You can also follow us and find our soaps here:

I've been making a shampoo bar with clay. I don't know if you watch other soaper's video's but Soap and Clay has some great recipe's and she puts clay in ALL her products. Clay is really SO great! I pretty much go to your KZfaq video's and Soap and Clay for my info. Thanks so much for this! I'm going to have to check out FoundInBio.

I watched your video this morning, many thanks for the hints, information and demo of clays in soaps. I've tried the red clay and put too much in. The result was hideous. Now I'm going to give it another go. So many thanks for the education on clays. It was invaluable. 😍 😍

Do you recommend mixing the clays in with the oils before you add the lye solution? I’m guessing that would mean you would be able to incorporate them a little better before you need to worry about your trace getting too thick? Thanks 😊

Thank you for sharing, love the different clays for natural colourants. Does the various amount of clay affect the lather in soap and is there a maximum amount you can use in clay? I will do some testing, but want a good starting point 😀. Love the way the red clay matched your hair 😍

Love the video... i have used som of them befor. I wondered how you should blend them if you cant use a stickblender ( the blade is of metal)?
@TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany

Hello Anette. I have never even thought of that before! I am always so careful to avoid using metal spoons or utensils, the blade of the stick blender never even crossed my mind - you have caught me out with this question! Honestly, we have been stick blending but if you wanted to avoid that then you could mix the soap by hand, though that would take a lot longer!

It is so hard to choose! For me personally, I would go with either Dead Sea or Green clay as I have quite oily skin. If you have drier or more mature skin then Pink clay would be the way to go!
