@@gloomiehoodie But they're right. Especially if you live in somewhere like india or the US, blaming the corrupted government is fine, because it's corrupted. I personally believe we don't stand up enough and that's the problem. We need to hold our governments to higher standards and push people like trump and MAGA and other bullshit out of office. We need more protesting, more anger against the system. I want to see signs outside not just the white house but every freaking office in the country.

I worked for a property management company years ago. We had to put up signs inside saying if you didn’t find this through our website it’s a scam. Sadly this stuff is common, they will steal keys in lockboxes and then give them to people for money acting as the owner.

Alot of these scammers are in massive call centers and they are paid a commission on each scam they make, so they have motive to stay on the line and alot of their employers will actually tell them they are not allowed to hang up, that their victim has to hang up or they can only hang up under certain circumstances/ when the person they are talking to knows they're scamming

Who the heck would even want that house... Over-priced garbage with MASSIVE property taxes and in a state that has like 50% tax on your income... Complete waste of money. Only the idiots of Hollywood or NBA would buy a house like that, and thats why so many of them end up broke later in life...

If you take the top federal rate, with the state rate you can pay over 60% of your income in taxes. You can like living there but don't pretend your not being robbed multiple times on each dollar you earn.

It almost happened to me, but I happened to have a friend on the street where the house was and I wrote her saying how excited I was that I was going to be her neighbor. I sent her the picture and she wrote back "That's across the street and belongs to a friend. I called her and she said it's definitely not for sale!" Whew! What luck is that!!!

As an Indian, we also have problems with these frustrating scammers. I receive over 10 calls a month from people trying to scam me. How can we control them? I don't understand why the government isn't addressing this issue. Additionally, the Indian government has implemented an OTP system for online card transactions, which I find inconvenient because it prevents me from using PayPal.

Only 10 calls a month? I nearly get that many on a daily basis. The same opening line every time from different numbers. I block and they call back with a new one, all local numbers. Frustrating as I run a business and expect legitimate calls often. I hate it, every time my phone rings I cringe.

My favorite scam right now are the unsolicited phone calls where they want to buy your house even though it's not for sale. They call you, ask if you will consider selling, then they refuse to make an actual offer because they want you to name the price. 😆

When my parents were selling their house some scammer used the info to do a rental scam. The guy did the same thing, ridiculously cheap price but had to pay first month's rent as a deposit before even seeing the place. People kept randomly stopping by, some just to check out the property and some angry that they were ghosted after paying the deposit. Their real estate agent had to deal with law enforcement to get it all to stop but it took a few months before the insanity died down.

How very relevant. Just went through a whole ordeal cause I needed a place to live pretty urgently, and my partner and I found like 10+ scammers in just the span of a couple weeks. It's insane.

Were you contacting licensed real estate agencies, though? Ones with actual shop fronts and solid local history? You should never try to rent directly from a "landlord". That's always high risk - even if they're not scammers.

@@flowerartz Why do you have bad credit and poverty? Meantime I didn't say don't rent from landlords (all rental properties are owned by landlords, obviously), I said don't rent DIRECTLY from the landlord. Always use a licensed real estate agency/property management.

you should have made the story that you went there, spoke to the property owner and they sold you the property for the same price the scammers were asking for. That would be hella funny. Also sign up to the forms using a disposable email address, they are very easy to get online.

out of all the apartments I have rented, only 1 sounded too good to be true. I got a 3br 1ba for 950 a month HOWEVER, No doors were hung, there was paint everywhere on the floors, and the walls looked like easter, Light yellow, Cyan, and Blue. If you ever get one of these apartments, take care of it with your life and make sure you get renewed 1 year leases.

Yeah my place is very cheap for its size and location. I am fine with the decor and finish being poor, but leaks have also developed through the walls due to lack of exterior maintenance (brickwork mortar/pointing and the gutters) and now it's a nightmare haha.

I don't know if anyone can help with this, but my mom was recently scammed out of $20k through a banking scam, and her actual bank did nothing to help. When she told me about the scam interaction, I immediately told her to call the bank. She did. They told her they froze her accounts. They didn't. They pinpointed the fraudulent account. Took no action for 3 weeks. By then the account was drained.

Get all evidence contact police contact corporate of the bank. They definitely are at fault after they were informed of the scam and didn't take action. If they dont replace money. Get attorney to write a letter stating you're suing. I am not a banker just do research on FDIC and their liability Good luck and sorry this happened to yr mom. My mom age 80 was scammed 20k
