A long time ago, before the Fairy Godmother flicked her wand and created the Isle of the Lost, two of the world's most threatening villains fell in love with each other. But their love wouldn't last for a handful of reasons, one of them being that they weren't on the same page when it came to parenting. Hades and Maleficent got married and had a daughter named Mal, but there was trouble in paradise from the get-go.
Before long, Hades walked out on Maleficent and his baby girl, choosing to hide out in the dungeons for the rest of his sentence. Mal grew up under the watchful gaze of an impossible mother and soon found out who her real father was. In this video from TheThings, we reveal how the Mistress of Evil and the God of the Underworld managed to fall in love and have their own happily ever after - for a little while.

the REAL Maleficent IS evil. You can not judge the character based on her "remake". Disney's Maleficent is not only evil but she LOVES being evil and takes great pride and joy in being so. Maybe Maleficent told Hades about the possibilities of one day getting revenge on the people of Auradon through the use of their daughter and perhaps Hades just didn't like the idea of their daughter being used for that purpose and it may have caused a big argument? could be an interesting thing to think about.

If you go back to facts here you can know that hades is from Greek mythology and not from Disney but yes disney did make a movie called Hercules using hades in it but it didnt use everything from the Greek mythology. It's the reason why persephone wasn't in it and didnt show Zeus cheating on his wife or his wife torturing Hercules for not being hers or showing that Hercules killed meg because he thought she was a monster. But Disney wouldnt add that kind of dark stuff into a child's movie so it's the reason they cut alot of facts from it.

Also can we all just take into account of the fact that in actual Greek mythology Hades isn’t actually a bad guy. He may have been the god of the dead and the king of the underworld, but that’s all he was, god of death and a king. Some of the other gods where way worse, e.g. Ares, god of war, Mesperyian, goddess of torture and punishment, (I realise she’s not a real Greek mythology goddess but still) Also all the things the other gods did, cheating on their wives/husbands, impregnating their wives, randomly killing mortals and creating more gods. Hades never did any of that. In fact his love story with Persephone was actually really cute. Sure He kidnapped her (Zeus actually gave him permission to do that btw) but they were really in love, like she was actually happy with him. He even allowed her to leave for a year but she still comes back. So in conclusion, Hades is the only good god, he may be the god of the underworld and death but it’s not as bad as his brothers. Quick note: most of this stuff was explained by my friend (one time) So I may have gotten some stuff wrong, but my pint still stands.

In greek mythology he has a daughter and some believe that mal and his daughter as for told in greek mythology are one in the same. And if that were true then mal is not only older than she seems (hint to that she is the demmey god.) But Hades would have had more time with her than it appears

Ok well it wasnt really against Persephone’s will. And Hades in mythology is not a bad guy at all. Persephone didnt like how overprotective her mother was and Hades wanted to find love. Demeter freaked and cause all-year-winter until Zeus found Persephone. Persephone and Hades didnt wanna leave each other so Zeus decided that Persephone will stay with Hades for half the year, hence Winter and Autumn.

I don't know why people don't like Hades but I, LOVE HIM!!! His is such a savage and cool dad. He cared for Mal but never told her and respected Maleficent and his divorce. The moment he gave her his amber, I knew that he was a good person inside. Just someone who had a bad and painful past. Hades is my favourite character!!!

@@nataliepoo9341 I'm pretty sure that's not what happened. Firstly cause, if that would have happened, Mal would've grown up WITH Hades and not WITHOUT Hades. What probably happened was that they didn't get along and ended up having a divorce. In one case, maybe Hades didn't know about the child, and when he found out, it was too late. In the second case, when they divorced, Maleficent took the child with her saying a child needs her mother more. There are many other things that could've happened too....

I have watched it like 30 times and this is how I think it goes: Hades and maleficent fell inlove but I feel like maleficent did not treat him right sooo he left her and it happened so much before he left he thought almost every body would do that to him so he was always in the cave and so that’s also why Selia gets him food and stuff he can trust her and he knows that it’s only MY opinion

Actually the story of Hercules' birth happened in the summer when Persephone was with her family and it follows the tale by jumping from summer scene to summer scene and not showing us what happens in the autumn and winter portions

I believe they will fall for each other all over again. The only reason ( in my opinion ) Malifecent called it off, is because they were both powerless. Malifecent fell for Hades darkside as we all saw in House of Mouse - Halloween w/Hades. Mal will definitely be part of the reason that they fall back in love. JMHO ( 👍🏻 up is you agree! ⬇️ )
