I'd encourage Jackson and Oliver to climb and crawl around together on those mats that you have in Jackson's play room. The ones that you make the forts and slides out of. Create little obstacles like a little pillow, a towel rolled up, etc. to see how Oliver will react and choose to go over or maneuver around the obstacles. You want Jackson to crawl and play with him so he can watch and see how Jackson moves. Tell Jackson to go slow and be easy while encouraging him. Maybe he does exactly what he's always done or maybe he starts learning how to use his legs are arms in different ways. Either way, it's tummy time and exercise. It's probably gonna take some time for him to catch on, but that's what I'd try.

This is the Best comment I've seen in this video,You're so right! :) I did this exact thing when my Nephew was a youngin' to encourage him to getting there. Within a couple days he was crawling and pulling himself up. I was always taught to get down at their level,play and do it with them,it really helps them more than you think. :)

I love how you both talk to Jackson. I try to do the same with my kids. You give them time to get their thoughts out even though it might not make total sense. That way they know they can always come to you and you will listen. If that makes sense…you are both great parents. 😊

I've seen somewhere, that you can get these soft toy clocks that are preset with a timer. It encourages children to stay in their room and do stuff quietly until said animal is "Awake". That might be helpful for Jackson to encourage him to stay in his room. Might like to sort "morning activities" as part of the night time routine so he had something to do in the morning while "said animal" is still sleeping. 😁

Pediatric physical therapist here- crawling on hands and knees is a milestone important for hand-eye coordination, bilateral coordination and core strengthening. Rocking on hands and knees, crawling over obstacles (like a parents leg or bolster pillow) or a sibling modeling crawling are good strategies to use! Also, your pediatrician can also suggest other strategies! Babies are often NEVER lazy. There’s always a why to what they are or aren’t doing!

Love a home vlog! The cookie cake from Publix was an awesome throw back to the original videos back in 2009. I love finally living back in Florida and getting Publix cookies again - my toddler doesn’t like them, but I always manage to convince him to get the free cookie at the store while he munches on the free fruit in the produce section. Hopefully Jackson woke up this morning (Monday) feeling better and it was just a one time thing for him. I can’t wait to hear all twelve of his new year wishes. On another note, I have been catching up on all of your live shows that you did during the last year or so during my longer commutes and I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you do and for being such amazing philanthropists - I just got to listen to your Planned Parenthood live and it was amazing to hear and I’m sorry for any flak you may have gotten for supporting such a good cause. Thank you for everything that you do! You have helped so many and I hope that you guys are getting the time you need to take care of yourselves and your family! Happy Thanksgiving!

Number one; What does his pediatrician say about him not having belly off the floor crawls? That’s who needs to weigh in. My children needed occupational therapy for various reasons and I learned that it was a significant milestone to crawl with belly off the floor so please talk to his doctor. It’s right up there with being able to self-soothe. There may be differing opinions from the pediatrics today than when my now 30 year old son only did the army crawl.
@beekind1940
@beekind1940 8 ай бұрын
My brother never crawled appropriately as a baby. He struggled with reading in first grade. A therapist had my parents do 'patterning with actual real crawling with him on the floor in the correct way. Once he was able to do that, his reading issues resolved. It's very interesting how all parts of development are important to future development.

My son never crawled, he army crawled but he was walking independently at 11 months old. Paediatrician said they don’t all hit every milestone, or at the same time. My son is now 8 and thriving…. If no other issues and paediatrician doesn’t seem concerned it’s just how some progress.

Jenn I’m a pediatric dietitian (28 years!) and there isn’t any official time recommendation for retrying a food, but with a tummy reaction I would say just wait a few months. There’s no reason he has to eat bananas specifically so there’s no harm in waiting a while.

As an educator and someone has done post graduate work with child development, crawling is an important milestone for developing the brain. It can effect skills such as reading. Many dyslexic children skip crawling. With that being said, I would not worry yet. He may still transition into a more tradition crawl later. If he does not, you can encourage crawling even after he starts walking. Turn it into a a game where you crawl with him. Pretend you are a dog/cat and have crawling races. Also, pop up crawling tunnels or cardboard box tunnels can be a fun way encourage crawling. Happy Thanksgiving!

The army crawl is pretty normal; two of my three grandbabies did it, then just started walking. The grocery store definitely seems more chaotic when you have more than one child with you; (or depending on their mood, just one will do it lol). I definitely notice the difference when I`m out with my grandkids compared to when I`m by myself. Having said that though; this time of year can get pretty crazy (Christmas is starting now lol).

Hopefully Jackson’s headache won’t be popping up often, could be from eye strain, but please watch for nitrites in processed meats, also MSG seasonings. Those are big triggers for me, and since I’ve cut way back on milk, my migraines have been reduced significantly. You guys need Philips Hue lights! We have them in our recessed lights on the ceiling in our living room and they’re amazing. There’s tons of color options and preset mood lights on the app it connects with, which can also flicker (one that I like to do is a fireplace vibe) and you can sync it up with your tv, so if you’re watching movies it’s especially amazing. We also have Hue lights roped around the back of our tv which is synced with the ceiling lights. My fav thing to do is watch one of those 8 hour crackling fireplace videos and set the lights to fireplace. Such a vibe! No fireplace here in So Cal. I feel like these lights would be great for finding good lighting in your house!

I always joked that they got my bad knees because I have never been able to put my weight on my knees without it hurting. My granddaughter was born March 8th and we took a blanket and threaded it under her tummy (sort of like a sling) and then lifted her up on her hands and knees, after doing that a few times she crawled on her on hands and knees at 7 months old.

My son is 12 months old and he just now started crawling on all fours. He was also an army crawler for the longest time. 😊

Our youngest pointed with the middle finger as well. So much so that when she got to kindergarten, she was pointing at something with her middle finger and a kid went and tattled to the teacher, saying that she had flipped them off because she didn’t know any better. We had to explain that using that finger can have a negative connotation so that she should try to use her pointer finger instead.

Oddly enough, I remember when I wouldn’t sleep without a parent with me, and the thing that helped me a ton was a larger stuffed animal. I liked pressing up against something and the filling up of the bed. Maybe a squishmallow or something similar?

Headache could very be the weather or a cold coming on. Rare would be migraines but children can get them.A migraine is usually on one side and probably lasts 8 hours. But sleep is probably the best.

Great home vlog! Jackson showed me what I’d look like a hot wheels car and Oliver showed me he’s been watching daddy drive! 😂😂
