I've got the Hayauchi 6.3 meters pole saw as wel here in Belgium. About 9 years old now and very happy with it. The saw has a complex tooth pattern and stays sharp for a very long period. When it gets blund you can have it sharpened by a specialised shop. You can also buy the saws separate from the pole. The whole pole and saw does cost something, but is absolutely worth its value. Did I say I was very happy with it?

Wow it’s been ~15years since I meet Gaston at his old workshop at Beach Rd. I’ve been fixing flood damage at his shop back then (hi Gaston!) I introduced the Swiss Rali hand planer system to him but he never really got it implemented to the NZ market, big mistake knowing the current market. Also talked about two cherrie chisels back then but hey only a sharp chisel is a good chisel and that’s where it ends on a building site. I also introduced the German Maffel brand to him which of course is high price for NZ purpose and overkill for the average builder, but hey! It’s the best. Anyway good luck to you guys to merchandise this tools to the NZ market.

Just the best tools. Very nice workshop. I am ipressed. Who does not want to work there? I love the Mafell NFU50. Very special, but also very useful. Good tools cost their price, but they are worth it. With good tool you have to cry only once: when you have to pay them. With cheap tools you will cry every time you use them. Where Mafell comes from, the people know what quality is. And they always take a look, that it is the price worth, that it costs. In this region are a lot of very good companies: Festool, Metabo, Kärcher, Bosch and many more. All not cheap, but the money more than worth.

Mafell does everything right except one thing: the battery drills. Dont get me wrong, very good products, in fact i have the predecessor of the 18v right here and love it. But at the end of the day its a Metabo drill in a red case for twice the price. And i had arguments about it with our Mafell guy here in Germany and they hate that topic because they know its true. @@veitjacob9764 well i cant speak on XGT but i would not outrule any brand just like that. These brands are used by builders here all around and they get the job done. As soon as you get out of Europe the prices for these brands just get way to high compared to Makita, Milwaukee or DeWalt.

@@OhneMehrwert I got the chance to work with a kit of these three brands and they mediocre compared to other battery tool brands. Festool drills are really bad and only for light work. The festool plunge saw is almost always out of whack right from the factory. Fein multitools are powerless, slow and have terrible ergonomics. Festool mitresaws a divas without any outstanding features and not a mm more precise than a hikoki, metabo or Makita.

I have absolutely no problem watching a half hour Piranha Tools advert with you and Gaston. Any other similar video would piss me off no end. I only object to his whiteboard marker preference as I know and own the best already :-) PS, Scott, if you do get one, get ceramic not plastic. Not sure about Nelson but available used for reasonable money from time to time where you used to live.

I was literally just on the kinetic customs website right before watching this video. Been looking at getting one of theirs for a while now
