In this video I give a quick recap of the first official Urban Gentry event held in NYC at the Bremont Boutique on Madison Avenue. I compare the experience with another event I recently attended at Carnegie Hall for Breguet and why Bremont was much more fun.
I then unbox the latest acquisition for my own collection from a brand I truly adore but have not owned for many years. I discuss what is so historically and technically special about this Hamilton watch, why it could quite possibly be the greatest Hamilton ever made, and a killer bargain at that!

My favorite Hamilton will always be the Ventura. A style all its own ,and not one you see everyday. I think it is " pure class" .Love the channel ,allthe best!.

I bought my Oris Aquis. Your channel made me aware of Oris as a brand and I seriously fell for the Aquis. Probably my favourite watch still to this day. Love the design. Got it as a celebration for completing my master's degree. Awesome channel TGV!

Great video love to see how much the channel has grown and how many people have joined the hobby. So sad I wasn't able to make the event but duty calls! Definitely think a Bremont should enter the collection I love what theyre doing bringing back British made watches. I also love the Hamilton it reminds me of 1950s New York business man and needs a 30s roadster to go with it.

Great to see another Thin-o-matic on here! I just picked up a 1962 model from a small local antique store for $200, and I absolutely love it. Very Mad Men-esque. Anyway, glad the first Gentry event was a success. If the next one is on a weekend, I would totally go!

Really beautiful piece! Love the vintage Hamiltons. I have a cal 770 housed in a 14k gold 'Bradford' case and it's simply lovely. And it's super accurate as well. Vintage Hamilton represents the pinacle of American watch-making in my opinion.

My dad's retirement watch for service from 1963 until 1985 (with inscription) is an AP Quartz. I have always been into watches and this watch has been in my possession since his passing and unworn. Your appreciation of vintage watches, specifically AP has inspired me to remove this watch from its original leather container and display it in by burgeoning collection, which is largely inspired by your channel. My favorite Hamilton is a white gold 1947 Piping rock. It’s one of those watches that make you smile whenever you are in the mood to wear it. I feel VERY lucky to have it in my collection and hope the next custodian of it will love it as much as I do. Thanks for your You Tube entries, you have cost me a lot of money and time with your recommendations ;-) The watch event at Bremont in NYC sounds like it was a special moment in time. I started watching your channel maybe 3 months ago. I love them! I am now starting my collection. Just ordered a Seiko SKX009 and might have it modified. I would love to get a Tudor...either the Pepsi or the Black Bay 58. Another interesting watch I came upon was the Farer automatic Endurance...beautiful watch. What a wonderful acquisition! I'm not usually a fan of 'dress' or gold watches (more of a 'tool' watch guy), having said that, the Masterpiece is truly a masterpiece of horological history. Now I'm trying to find one for occasional wear. Very understated in gold. It's a great looking piece.

What a nice feel to slip a vintage inscribed gold cased Hamilton on the wrist. What a coincident, TGV, just this morning going through my stash and pulled out a similar Hamilton (10kt black dial sub seconds slender 34m domed not sure of mvmnt). Gentleman back then cherished these, in that it is near mint. Inscribed: Presented to Vincent W Norris by Beechnut Life Savers Inc 25 Years Service 1962. Found it at a garage sale some ten years ago for $80, now I have to research it. Have occasionally worn it, but recently promised it to my lovely wife. Best Regards, JP

Very nice Hamilton watch. It reminds me of my gold Omega Geneva which was presented to my uncle for 25 years of public service. It's only 34mm and I have an 8.5 inch wrist so I was worried about how it would wear but there is no problem,it looks great! I am proud to wear it as it always makes me think of my Uncle who was a very fine man. Thanks for another great video.

I just picked up a Bulova from 1952 which looks pretty much exactly like yours! Down to the numeral! But mine has a date with a red date window, which offsets the red-brown leather strap beautifully!

After your review of the Thinomatic I went to visit my parents. At their home they have many family heirlooms and antiques, one of which was the watch my grandfather was given for 25 years service by his employer. I had remembered the watch and intended to inspect it while visiting; I had a suspicion it may be an Hamilton. Sure enough, Hamilton Thinomatic in a 14k gold case. It has the commemorative engraving on the back and is dated 1966. The interesting thing about it is that at the top of the face where the Hamilton branding normally would be, there is the Goodyear logo (Mercury's winged foot), as that is the company where he had worked. The Hamilton name is below the hands right above "Thin o matic." My parents said it was taken to a local jeweler many years ago who repaired it. It still works; you can hear the pendulum in the movement as you move the watch. It is now a cherished part of my collection, as my parents happily passed it on to me. Thanks for your videos, they have more meaning than just horological hobbying.

I have the same Hamilton design, but manual wind version. Looks much smaller on my wrist, but def good looking watch. Pairs well with an alligator or lizard strap.

Was recently gifted my uncle's Ventura for graduating college and getting a job. He passed away tragically a few years ago. It was the first watch he bought with his own money. Will cherish it forever.
