1:54 Red label was never sweet and it always had a smokey feeling, not as much as Black Label though. About the aftertaste, I can agree with friends that the 5th or the 6th drink starts giving a “soapy / detergent” taste. I’ve no idea why. You can’t go beyond 4 large ones with Red Label, it ruins the experience.

I am seafarer and have not only tried but finished min one bottle of all whiskies from DSP black to Double black lable, Glenfiddich, Glenlivet. In one sip you can not tell the taste of whisky even if you are every day drinker. Infact if you keep drinking one brand for many days it becomes your taste. Whisky should be judged on its next day effects.

Blue label is like having a meal at 5, star restaurant. In the end of the day you gonna stop at McDonald's to full your stomach. Similarly just have another cheap whisky to feel drunk.

I tasted gold label in 2000. but, I've found it harder to taste than black label. but, you are saying it is smooth. I usually used a black label instead of a gold label. Yes, the blue label is the best no doubt. will suggest tasting Remi Martin Louis XIII cognac. will also suggest do cognac glass a bit warm to feel its aroma. god bless you.

It is one the best of JW's collection . From the point of a whiskey taster i dont think these did justice to the review, they were making faces all through out , it happens with people who dont drink for taste and just for the high.

People who really drink expensive scotch knows glen 18 is the way to go but people with new money or followers go for blue cuz of inexperience. Jonny’s double black and gold are really good if you don’t want to spend alot.
