The way Hendrix played rhythm was unique. That's what made his music so great. too many people focus on solos.

Wow, someone that actually used his thumb to fret the board a play bass notes like Jimi did. It is the more "obscure" Hendrix numbers like "long hot summer's night" that have special significance to me that I love, this one being my favorite for personal reasons, and when I want to hear it on command, I can't because his niece blocked it from youtube. Many thanks for this take, it Captures that grove and lifts me up when I feel beaten and down. Awesome take.

I don't know how you remember all the nuances for one take. Even Hendrix wouldn't have been able to play it the same way again! Brilliant. This video always reminds me how genius the Rhythm part is on this song.

Electric Ladyland was my first Hendrix LP and it blew me away with its variety. This particular song with its incredible female backing vocals amazed the teenaged me. Every song apart from the live Voodoo Chile lifted me up and inspired me. Great playing here, dude!

What I like best about this great cover, is that although it's very accurate a d faithful to the original, it doesn't come off as "canned", overproduced, or done by a mechanical parrot without feeling. Instead, it just chooches along with a comfy groove, as if the original artist was having a good time with his Strat!
