Hi everyone. I know that this is not a bull. I made a mistake in calling it one. Apparently, according to all of the comments - a big mistake. This video is not about identifying a bull from a cow. It is about combining watercolor and pen and ink. It is an art video - not a biology lesson. I hope that you can enjoy it and I hope it helps you create art. It certainly won't help you identify a bull though :)

Come on folks, it's happened to me personally sooo many times that the vocab part of my brain turns off as the art part of my brain is in full swing. So why all the petty "it's not a bull" comments? Dude's got an amazing channel--one of my few favorites on YT in the quality art category that inspired me to start my own 4+ years ago--and he shares all his instruction so generously for free here. Maybe let's focus on his awesome and generous teaching skills, a'ight?

This is simply beautiful and expertly/artistically rendered. I love working with this combination of media because, just learning to work with water colors, it makes the medium less intimidating and easier to learn while also creating useable art.

Don't take the bull/cow razzing to hard. Laugh it off. We all make do this all the time. Excellent demo. I find it hard to talk when I am painting a demo because my brain shifts to the Right and every time I talk I have to make the shift to the Left..

Hey man! Your videos are so awesome! You can really tell that a lot of time and effort is being put into these videos.

Again a wonderful guide on creating something by reference! Is there a version in which you show the reference image permanently, e.g. in your course? It'll be SO MUCH help to see the coherent areas, as you are creating the texture of the fur and especially the values of the light, for understanding the process of hatching :)

Sorry, but it is kinda funny and it doesn't make any difference to me. I bet it makes a difference to a bull though :-) Ink and watercolor...my absolute favorite. Can't get enough of them. Thanks! Wonderful video! I did a cow awhile back, totally in pen and have been considering doing a pen and watercolor with a different cow picture I have. Just haven't figured out a background yet.

I was going to mention the bull vs cow thing but I see it has already been addressed. The point of the video is about the art, wonderful by the way, however knowing biology to identify your subject adds HUGE credibility to your cause and doesn't confuse the heck out of your audience. We, the audience, would like to feel that you know what you are talking about, that you are the expert so we can learn from you. Perhaps this cow identifies as a bull? LOL keep up the good work, I enjoyed this video on many levels! 😊

Guys, usually all bovines are referred to as, “cows,” so who cares. Watch the animated movie, “Barnyard,” and others which give male characters utters and call them cows.

This is an excellent video, but please don’t call this a bull! Bulls don’t have udders, only cows! Take it from a farm girl, I do know the difference!

That is a female cow, not a bull! Look at the udders!

This animal has udders, which are full of milk, so it is a cow, not a bull!!!

FYI: Bulls are Male and Heffer is female. Due to the udders, this is obviously a female. LOL
