As a retired music educator and jazz musician, I would say to all young singers: Don’t try to sing like Angelina until you know how to do it. Take voice lessons and learn everything you can about vocal technique and artistic styling. If you try to do what she does before you know what you are doing, you could severely damage your voice and may never be able to sing again. Angelina has a gift that very, very few people in history have ever had. All of her physical vocal abilities and sense of musical style came with her at birth and because her family played music all the time as she was growing up. She is a force of nature. You can aspire to sing like her, but don’t push it. We would like to see and hear you on KZfaq someday!

she is so original ,natural, genuine,authentic , uniqe and a real classic singer. reminds me of the greatest singers in the past decades. guys forget about vocal issues ex 6 octaves vocal range and soprano voices. just listen to her.I'm sure she has 6 octaves range but she never needs to chock herself for singing that high and for belting. never needs to jump up and fall on her knees. thank you Frank

Angelina was 12 here, and I was fortunate enough to be in the audience. A concert to remember. This number was almost at the end of a long set that launched her album 'Its Magic'.

What is amazing too is your reaction, sir. Continue to react this way to Angelina, with such enthousiasm.

Her voice gives me goosebumps all the time. She has so much soul in her voice. Love her. Her singing touches your soul. Amazing.

This was a beautiful summerday, I still feel lucky because I was there! 12 years old but in her case, an experienced artist. The band was celebrating 200 years, and did it by making the «It’s Magic» album with Angelina. Such a band will naturally come out as a bit loud in such recording made by audience, but I love it all the same. This concert was also the release concert for that album, in which you can hear all these songs made perfectly balanced, (with Angelina being about a year younger in those album recordings).

I loved your commentary and always learn more about singing. She is about 12 yrs. old here, 14 next month. It is an awful shame that the audio is only from a cell phone - it was pumping up and down with the levels because the band was so loud behind her. She makes it look simple and shows no effort doing this wonderful rendition. She does all the arrangements and directs the musicians. She has about a 5-octave range and has always had perfect pitch, even when she did some studio recordings at age 5 and 6. She has 118 unique songs on KZfaq now. She will be releasing a studio album of original songs this month, so we are led to believe. Watch for her as a contestant on AGT The Champions in January (she is eligible since she won Norway's Got Talent at age 8). She is a brilliant star in the universe. So you didn't know she could sing like that..... OK. But now you know... You just have to realize it - like a law of nature - that Angelina will surprise you again and again and.... That girl is gooooood... She has the most versatile voice of any singer. Well, she is not just a singer. She is the music and a born artist. But the greatest with Angelina is her humbleness and her social consciousness trying to lead our attention to those less fortunate in this world.

So; - this was 12 YO Angeline releasing her first full CD album (she is now working on her second), as she performed the full CD collection. This song she even did better live than it`s on the CD. I enjoyed your reaction very much. It is also a pleasure to take part in your journey :-) From "hmm, that's unique, she's probably got a reach of 1,5 octaves" over "hmm, ok, let's check out the higher notes on my keyboard", to "ok, I can now put the usual pity party talk aside and freak out with deeper analysis (plus massage the back of my head)" :-) She said that when she closes her eyes and sings she "thinks about the music". Anyone who personally knows what that means should keep Angelina on his/her radar forever. It's not only her voice and her ability to memorise/intergrate other songs/styles/voices. Her brain is made for complex and subtle stuff - music in this case. There are so many subtle details in her interpretations - by her design. I hope she improves her improvisation abilities though.

Your reaction to this is just how I feel it almost every time she sing a new song. She has the power to overwhelm me , always its in a good way. That make her my favorite singer. At the top og that, most of what she is singing should be far out of range for someone of her age. We are the lucky one`s to be able to follow here way up where she really belongs.

This concert was in June 2018, so that makes Angelina 12 years old (born Jan 10, 2006) Some of the magic of Angelina's voice comes from its richness of harmonics in the timbre. On top of that, we have her natural talent for combining pitch and dynamic inflection to make the music "bounce" in a way I never thought possible. It's this bounciness that pulls and tugs on your heart strings until You just can't resist it any more and You simply fall down at her feet in admiration ... and I havn't even mentioned her delicate understanding of jazz/blues phrasing. Angelina singing How Great Thou Art is simply beyond comprehension and amazing. She sings it in a way that is unbelievable. Low notes that I have never heard anyone do before.

She's the best

When kids present their "super-power" in art of singing - they tighten up - to the point that they go sterile. (Similar effect is found in prodigy pianists and violinists - they go fast - but also staccato with technique over emotion). Now - look at this girl's left wrist. Look at how lazy and relaxed it is. A girl in front of The Royal Army's brass band belting out a few feet behind her - in front of a crowd. Dropping in timbres at the high notes. She is at home. She knows the lyrics. She listens to the band. While having fun in the moment.

You did a reaction to Diana Ankudinova on the same song one month earlier, and for me there is no trace of a doubt, that Angelina, though considerably younger, did it A GREAT LOT BETTER.

I'm not a singing expert but by the videos I'm watching I think who many people are so enchanted by its uniqueness, its tone of voice (sorry but I don't speak eng and I can't explain better) who tend to underestimate the vocal power/range of this young lady; from what I could hear she doesn't have "just" a wonderful vocal timbre with an innate ease to go into low notes but even the (natural?) ability to go high (that's why I wrote about power/range). You are a vocal coach so understand of voice much more than me; if you had to categorize her, what do you think is? Maybe a Contralto with a large range/extension? Thanks for the (possible?) answer.

How to explain Angelina Jordan? Pitch perfect? Yes! Soft velvet voice? Yes! Brave and powerful voice? Yes! Stunning voice control and surreal phrasing? Yes! Magnificent emotional interpretations? Yes!! Music genius? Yes!! Soft intimate lullabies? Yes! High notes, belt singing? Yes! Amazing low notes? Yes! And so it goes on and on ... But it seems to me that all this is still unable to fully describe and explain this phenomenal singer who is still a beautiful and sweet young teenager. if you haven't looked at "A Decade of Dedication (86 song medley)"... it's a video made up of 80+ songs she sung over the years with her age at top left of screen. i am not suggesting you play it on your show. Just watch them if you want to analyze what she learned or how her brain, body, and developmental growth has impacted her singing over time. Some songs are better than others. Some she just imitates, others she transforms into her jazz style.

Fact number one is that she has an unbelievable vocal range... But she barely use any of that in most of her performances unless the song calls for it. So that alone you know she's not one of those vocal acrobats who just loves to show off. She certainly can and with her God given ability to connect emotionally to any songs she sing? And with all the techniques and colorings she has in her? If she do show off, she will going to trash a lot of vocal acrobats out there who doesn't have the enough respect for music.
