you forget just how good this actually is until you listen again after a while and immediately begin to vibe

Even on the more aggressive and harder songs (I myself needed to grow into the singer's vocals, "L'enfant sauvage" was the one that did it for me!), I feel like having the lyrics visible will be a big surprise for you, even their most aggressive songs have a surprisingly positive and insightful message to them, it's very interesting ! This song in particular, unless I'm wrong, was created for the birth of the singer's daughter (guess which season) and is nothing but positive lyrics telling her to face the world and the future ! I think most songs from their "L'enfant sauvage" album are the perfect gateway between their former heavy style and their newer progressive-ish style. If it's still a bit too heavy though, almost any song from their "Magma" album should do the trick, there are some very unique here since the album was made with very melancholic energy/themes (when the singer & drummer's mom died from cancer), some have clean singing all the way through and have barely ever been reacted to (like Low lands or Shooting star which are very soothing and beautiful imho) !

This cut-up! I like the mellow tone that leads into the more metal side to the song. Good mix, for sure. Loved it. We appreciate your fairness and honesty brother.

The main issue people seem to have getting into Gojira is how many different styles of songs they have. Some are brutal, some are slow, some are heavy, some are soft. This strikes a balance they often find in their slower song's, and displays their versatility. Going from this to something like "The Axe" is polarising, so somebody picking the 'wrong song for them' is very possible. Their skill however, is undeniable, regardless of opinion. Some songs are long enough and well crafted to the point ive had tears swell, which isnt common at all for me.

Off the back of this, strong recommendation for "Gojira - Pray (extended version) live at Red Rocks"

Anything I say about Gojira will be biased. I love their music. The aggressive, yet melodical way of composing and arranging songs is amazing, but there's something about the timbre of their instruments and Joe's voice that makes them sound definitely unique.

"The Fall" from the same album is another great song.

Gojira goes beyond just heavy music, they are more like tool, it is closer to an spiritual experience than anything, listento pray live at red rocks and you will understand

I've heard a handful or a bit more of Gojira's tracks and from what I remember (not 100% reliable) I did enjoy, as I did with this one. Really don't know why I don't dive deeper - time to change that!

Love seeing you go back to Gojira; they’re an amazing band with an incredible catalog. For the next one I would recommend Ocean Planet, which is the song that originally hooked me. Or you could just jump into the deep end with The Heaviest Matter in the Universe. Up to you!

Oooh, more Gojira, me likes! With The Art of Dying you discovered their more technical, agressive, complicated and brutal side. With this one you discovered their more melodic, emotional and softer side. They have everything in between. This band oozes talent and creativity imo. I want to recommend more songs but it's difficult to choose just one. The Gift of Guilt live at Brixton Academy, Silvera omv or Global Warming live in studio are all good choices. All have different vibes and the latter two have Joe doing some clean singing. The Gift of Guilt is worth it just to see Mario going nuts on the drums, and their precision and tightness live. Oh and please give Enslaved another chance too! Roots of the Mountains maybe. Stay safe and continue being you!

Good morning from New England..Welcome to the worldwide Gojira Collective...When they pull back a bit they write some of the most atmospheric metal out there..I'm a drummer and Mario is an alien on his kit lol I've seen them 8 times the last time being in Portland Maine with Mastodon and Gojira put on the best show I've ever seen...Since you dug this listen to THE SHOOTING STAR LOWLANDS or if you want straight up bangers try BACKBONE or GIFT OF GUILT..I hope you get back to more Gojira... Btw they are a band best experienced live so I recommend watching some live vids ✌️🧐🤘

Fun fact: Gojira, Devin Townsend, and one of the guys from Meshuggah, Fredrik Thordendal, wrote some material together some years ago. Unfortunately the hard drive with the complete album got toasted, and only one song survived. It's called "Of Blood and Salt", it's easy to find on KZfaq, and without sugar-coating it: it's fucking glorious. I really hope they eventually take another shot at making an album together. Great to see you take another shot with them! I can think of at least 5 other songs of theirs to recommend for different reasons, but I think "Another World" might hit a good spot for you. It's very melodic but shows off a hint more of their heavier side than this. For having such a distinctive sound, this band can do a hell of a lot within that range.

Sorry I'm late to the party friend...i was so unbelievably glad to see you had a reaction to this song, and also many others surprisingly...this has got to be one of the top 3 songs i know that PERFECTLY encompasses my simultaneous sadness and anger at times, but its unbelievably cathartic...the beginning with the ethereal guitar and vocals like gets me lost in thw ether or something, but at least I'm out of my own head for a while...also their song "Flying Whales" has a lot of cool, soothing instrumentals i think you might like it if you havent checked it out already..❤ you man; Pe@ce, Love, and Prosperity to all of you

Holy shit, yeah, i forgot to recomend this one, this one was literally the one that got me into Gojira! All right! If you liked this one, just like me, i'd suggest one of theese: Stranded, Flying Whales, Gift of Guilt (live at brixton academy) Well, there are so many good songs from them that mixes this calming and relaxing moment and then explodes epically, i'll gradually recommend more songs based on your next reactions!

As a massive massive Gojira fan, this one is indeed such a well written song. Majority of Gojira songs are mich more intense and ‘brutal’, but when they do a softer one, they do it just as well. Another one in the same spirit of this one would be ‘The Trails’, off of their latest album Fortitude which for majority of OG Gojira fans was kind of a miss. I thought it was okay but i definitely like the older stuff better. I’d suggest to watch some live footage, without going too too hard, i’d recommend The Axe live at Brixton academy or Explosia live at Brixton. They really do metal in their own way and that why i clicked with them so well. Literally 85% of their disocgraphy is topnotch imo. Keep em coming and nothing better as an honest reaction. Cheers

If you haven't checked out Mastodon, I think you'd really like them. Very similar sound, and I'll die on the hill that they're the best metal band in America. Recommend Oblivion, The Last Baron, More than I could chew, The Sparrow, Sultan's Curse.
