This song was written by Harry Vanda and George Young (Angus's older brother!). After the Easybeats broke up, Vanda and Young focused on writing and producing, and basically became the godfathers of 70's Aussie music, writings songs for John Paul Young, Ted Mulray band, Cheetah, Stevie Wright (the singer from Easybeats) and many others. I love this version, many people talk about SRV or Hendrix, I put Gary Moore up there too.

This live version was recorded in Stockholm in 1987, ten days after I saw Gary Moore live in Germany. It was actually my first real big concert. It was as loud as a fighter plane.

This isn't a live performance & I don't think the video footage is from Stockholm (I have the audio from that gig & this song isn't on it). This is the studio version, joined together with concert footage. A great track but not really a good representation of Gary Moore, so much more out there.

Im glad that i had the opportunity to see Gary Moore & Queen at the Råsunda Stadium in Stockholm on June 7/1986 ..It was magic ...37500 people in the crowd...😎😎😎

You were there?!? I've seen the whole concert, though very bad quality, maybe a VHS copy. If given the chance, that Gary Moore Stockholm concert would be right up there with maybe INXS at Wembley in '91 as THE concert I'd like to travel back in time to see. :)

Gary Moore is one of my guitar heroes. One of the reasons I started playing guitar. The drummer is Eric Singer, who replaced Eric Carr in Kiss and is still their drummer. The bass player is Bob Daisley, who was with Ozzy and Sabbath among many others.

The crazy thing about this song... Jon basically said that Gary must have changed up this song so much to make it so 80's. The crazy thing is that Gary only really turned up the guitar. This song was like an 80's rocket released in 1966... If only the Easybeats hadn't have disbanded. On saying that, the sheer number of Aussie and NZ bands that grew out of this... Skyhooks, Daddy Cool, etc.. For me, this song introduced me to Gary. I now have all his albums. This song means so much to me on so many levels.

This was during Gary Moore 80s rock/metal segue but his roots and most of his music was blues or at least blues influenced. I think you both have already reacted to Gary Moore Still Got The Blues and The Messiah Will Come Again.

Need to check out Tommy Joannson cover of Empty Room Garry is the original singer but Tommy Joannson does a fabulous fantastic job. ( Empty Room ) you won't be disappointed. Tommy is the lead guitarist for Sabaton. He started doing cover songs of different artists when COVID hit. He also has his band Majestic.

A fantastic tribute cover of The EasyBeats 60s song ,I was in the audience the night Stevie Wright introduced the bands new song and it brought th3 house down .Vanderbilt and Young australian musical gurus who wrote this when on to write many hit songs for some of Australia's top acts , do your subscribers and yourselves a favour and check them out

Please don't make assumptions, the original singer was Stevie Wright. The original is very close, to this, though these guys did change the tune a bit. Easybeats were an original pub-rock band. See Black-eyed Bruiser and Evie parts 1, 2 & 3. Harry Vanda, tall nlond drink of water, and George Young, short dark haired scottish guy., stayed in London as a song-writing team, wrote lofs of hirs. They released one of them themselves, as Flash and the Pan, Hey saint Peter. Great song. Yeah please say aussie like ozzie. The s's are like the z's in pizza. We call Australia, the land of Oz sometimes, you are saying it the american way which is just wrong.

Gary Moore is no glam or hair metal reference. Poor man... this was in between melodic hard-rock and heavy metal from mid-80’s. Comes in the line of Out in the Fields played with Phil Lynot. Both have a past with Thin Lizzy. Gary Moore became later a legend as a blues rock guitar player. RIP
