Love to see those VW Bugs. I raced VW Bugs for almost a decade. Gene Berg everything. It actually costs more to build and race a VW Bug than a lot of other cars. Now racing a 383 powered 1982 Chevy S-10.

I own a 2005, 4 cylinder Honda Accord, and a 2019 c7 red Corvette. If I was racing that VW Van, I'd feel 100% confident, driving my Accord, to an easy win. Why are vehicles like this, even in a drag race?

Well built is almost always cooler. But when you can’t build due to health issues, garage space or lack of mechanical skill bought sometimes is the only choice if you want to be out there participating.
